hey guys
I'm not sure you know it or not ..:(
I didn't until the other day myself ..

but our own Bruce Evans has been having some pretty long term medical problems,and I assure you it's something I wouldn't want to have..
money has been tight and he's had to use up any moneys for shop materials just to live, right now he's got the shakes so bad he doesn't dare use any machines, the doctors finally found the problem but it's going to take more time for him to get back in the shop, but with nothing to work with..
Donna's been working 7 days a week to try to keep it together till then, and with two girls I for one knows he could use a bit of help..
I'm not sure how he's going to feel about me saying anything about it but,, there it is..
what do you say?? any help from the crowd? he's always been there for us..
I'm going to send him some steel..the consumables is what he'll need most
maybe something for the girls would help too.. any ideas you have and can help with I'm sure would help greatly.

the girls are 9 and 14 and both will be having a Birthday next month and they are as cute as their mother too..:) this is just about in time I'd say..:thumbup:

Chuck Bybee was disappointed with the Mike Mann and Larry Harley auctions.
best reason I guess.. because some people didn't come
through on their end, some guys said they would donate knives and didn't do so..
so he's not doing any more I take it..:(
and he's out straight too with shows..
please send them to me..I'll make the time to do it..

Leatherface Dave B. below has offered to make
sheaths , but I'm sure they will be a limit so contact him for this..thanks Dave..

I'll help. It would be good to find out if there's something specific he could use. I have some extra belts, steel and a mess of other stuff. Does he make sheaths? I have some leather and thread.
 
whis there was some sort of assistance i might lend but all i can offer is maby a good broom or somthing.

I am working on finding out what belt sizes would be needed..
it's late so calling around is out for right now..but I have some e-mails out there right now..Robert yes on the making sheaths..I'm not sure I mentioned that in the e-mail..:confused:

I just got off the phone with Chuck Bybee. I suggested using the few knives that came in late for my auction back in September and turning it into an auction for Bruce. I'll also donate a knife. One thing I do ask is if you make a commitment to the auction please follow threw with it in a timely mannor. More information to come. Geez, you know I've been wondering what happened to Bruce on his chat board.

For help I'm not sure what all I can do but I'm in for a bit of what ever we do, Bruce has been a great help in knifemaking and a good shoulder to lean on a few times as well. I have some 51200, 3/4 round from Tony that me and Bruce have talked about I think that he's welcome to, not sure what else I have to offer.

Thanks Bruce, you have been a help to me and mine when I needed an ear, I hope I can return a little.

Let us know if a paypal account opens for him -- I'm sure a little dough wouldn't hurt either.
 
If you want to see what Bruce Evans has contibuted, take a look at his website.
Some good tutorials that have helped a few, I'm sure.
I'll find some way to help out.
Maybe give another knife for Chuck to auction off, as Firebug :rolleyes: Ray Richard above has generously suggested...:D
 
Pass me a note on what Bruce can use. I don't know if I can get an auction knife done in time but, if some stuff would help out...I've got stuff. This is terrible to hear. Bruce is a heck of a nice fella and has been a great help over the years. Let me know what we can do.

thanks for the thought
but I think just the steel might be better, Bruce does sole authorship and his customers may like him to keep it that way once he can get going again.

the biggest problem is the finishing part where he has the shakes so bad.
belts and stuff like that, that he can't buy right now may go father
just my opinion though..
