Maynard told a joke once and I said, "I don't care who you are, that there's funny"

He started crying and said "Well I don't care who YOU are either!"

Maybe I could do a Kleenex stack handle? Ooooh, how about the plastic off of a pacifier, MWUUhahahaha.

Glad you like it Mack, I think I can fight through the tears and make it work . We shall see:D
 
Are you sure (quite sure) that Maynard isn't your alter ego? I have, after all, seen your uni-brow, and you did seem a little, well, sensitive. (just sayin'...) ;)

The guard on this is Nickel Silver, I'm considering doing some bronze guards down the road, not a popular metal, but I've always liked the look of it and I think it would go great with a classic leather stack.

Just an off the wall thought. How difficult would it be to do a stacked wood handle? I'm picturing a stack of blackwood (of course) with bronze end cap and guard. Perhaps some white micarta or lighter hardwood spacers?
Am I crazy?
 
Well, you are crazy, but that's a whole nother story.

A stacked wood handle would work but it might just look like busy grain without flow. You could add some kind of spacers but I'm not sure how that would look.

I'd like to do a full handle with blackwood, with a fighter type handle shape.

That is going to be a nice knife John.. too nice for Maynard! Maynard is a huge Tom Brady fan and he went into a hunger strike at the beginning of the year while Brady was suspended. Our only hope fellas is that the Patriots lose this week and Maynard goes into a depression that prohibits him from having sharp objects...Then maybe John will do a give away :thumbup:. So Go Texans!!

Not really sure yet where I'm going with this guard, but that's usually how it goes around here:D


Think I'll lose the micarta spacer and stick with blackwood, leather, antler and some very thin bronze spacers (Thanks to Tim letting me raid his shim stock).

It's been warm lately, I saw Maynard crying next to a snowman. I asked him what was wrong and he said, "Melting hurts".
