Mcusta mistake

I've been curious a long time about these knives and after reading this thread I wanted to see what this was all about. Just bought a Tactility. Cool to see Mcusta directly contact Mr. Hudson about his concern. Seems like a very stand up company.

Interesting, that they use Corian. Not that there is anything wrong with that - it comes in a bunch of different colors after all (not least gorgeous 'antique ivory').
Ive seen Corian used for handgun handles, knife slabs......and table tops. It seems to work.

strange :) mr Tomohiro Hasegawa did not mention this. anyway, i got used to it now.
congrats for your new Mcusta! they can easily beat any $500 knives! :)

Yes it is strange, But I understand that in the past Mcusta changed their Logo lettering on the blade without notifying dealers and apparently
caused a lot of questions at the time. Having looked at your photo I would be happy with either grind. You are going to keep yours then?

What $500 knives have you done side by side comparisons with?

i haven't done that :) this is just my personal opinion :)
ok, technically you can't compare with ZDP-189 steel, carbon fiber, DLC, titanium, special grinding etc.
but they have aesthetic and artistic value what is worth much more for me. they use ancient ideas for design based on the principles of Zen. i think this is something more than stupid expensive materials. :)
when you infuse and transmit all of this spirit into a product than you got something original and unique. this is what you can't achieve only by machnies and technology. so i beleive that is a VG-10 Mcusta or anything else charged with good spirit is much better than simple raw material.
i know it's a bit too methaphysical but maybe you understand better if you check this video about calligraphy and how they manipulate the ink particles :) i think there is difference between steel, even if it's the same steel ;)

Well what did you email them? If it was anything like your OP, then they were probably just trying to make their customer happy. Did you even ask them if they changed the production???

nothing special. i just attached the pictures and mentioned the differences, and asked that is normal or not. that's all!

So its better than $500 knives that you havent compared it to. OK.

What the flying...

Did you read that crazy mess you just wrote? You must be on vacation in Colorado, right?
Your original complaint first titled "mcousta failure" was because your knife's grind was different from the photos. Now its Zen infused and has it's own spirit.
Right on man. I'm out!

mcusta rocks even if the shape of the swedge is not perfect :) and you don't need to smoke to believe the power of the universe.
the japanese master swordsmiths are also talking about the soul of the blade and they are very spiritual.

yes i keep it. i EDC that knife :)

My new Mcusta MC-121D arrived this morning. The blade looks like the lower one
in the OP's photo so it does appear that this is the new grind.
