If the primer blew it could get ugly try a torch to pop the primer before you glue um up. Phil Thanks for the great idea, now I know why I saved all that brass. My neighbour shoots 10 thousand rounds a year with his rifles mostly 223 for coyotes and gophers . Ya its fun to see a gopher explode, our best day last year I went with him we shot 800 gophers.
 
For safety sake I would replace the live primer with a piece of rod of the correct diamater to give the look without the danger. Primer's are pretty hot stuff.
