Medford 187DP or Midi Marauder

That's impossible! :D Great looking ano job!
and props for not anodizing the detent side... (taking the temper out of the ball)

Yep.
I prefer having the detent ball remain round if possible. :)
Have a number of frame-locks where the ball wore down and they still work fine (the hole size allows it to still work), but if I can avoid messing things up and extend the life of the ball, even better.

I'm not a big Medford supporter, the guy seems like kind of a tool and the letter that warned me about not looking directly at my knife or it would void the warranty was a little off-putting.

That said, I carry this 187 semi-regularly and have grown to like it:

It's a well made too-fat little knife, though it does have some obnoxious little ignored details (e.g. the lock bar cut-out on the side closest to the pivot is very sharp, to the point that it's occasionally a hot spot on my index finger when cutting something where I'm really gripping hard).

Looks like they've raised the grind slightly on yours, which I imagine would improve cutting performance

I replaced my Sebenza with a Slim Midi and haven't looked back. I've never liked a knife more in the 15 years I've been buying them.

It's completely flawless, by the way. And it cuts like a demon with the thin stock and deep hollow grind.

That said, I won't act like they haven't had issues. Their early efforts were laughably bad in terms of finish and overbuilt to the point of absurdity.

I don't actually care about the disassembly issue. I've hurt more knives than I've helped doing that and try to avoid it, if possible.

I love Greg. it was no small part of why I gave them a chance when they finally released a knife with acceptable handle and scale thiccness in the Slim Midi.

Thanks for the input all. I figured I would give them a try an ordered up a slim midi. Although it is a little slimmer than what I was looking for I’m sure it will be able to handle most of what I will be using it for.
