As much as I can appreciate the craftsmanship put into a Medford Knife (I have a Praetorian T with predator ti scales), what I can't understand is why they would give you a case that has no foam insert that keeps the knife from banging around in the case. Grimsmo gives you the exact same case with a custom foam insert that fits the knife perfectly. Is Medford just lazy, stupid or careless? How hard would it have been to include a custom foam insert for that $1,000 plus knife?

Any leads on someone that makes them for Medford knives and S3 t2000 cases would be appreciated. In the meantime, I'll just make my own I guess. Even tried reaching out to Medford by email inquiring about it and after 2 emails still not one response from anyone at the company.

I don't carry the case around. They sit on a shelf. None of my MKTs need a comfy foam place to rest. None of mine rest much at all-everyone of them is used...

I’ve always thought that all knives, whether they’re a $50 production folder or a $15,000 custom, should come in a simple padded zipper pouch. If it’s a custom then there should be a simple business card-sized certificate from the maker with the build date, materials, and other info. That’s it. No giant boxes or pelican cases, no stickers or other “merch,” nothing!

So how do Medford knives come in the case? Just loose? Bubble wrap? Anything?
My Praetorian Slim came in the case, but was wrapped up in some plastic. No foam bed et al.

My Necromancer fixed neck knife arrived in a cardboard box.

No love letter and roses.

I'm happy about that...

Disappointed, Shane, disappointed.

Here to talk about experiences and knowledge about all things 'blade'.

Not opinions about people.

Can you rise to the occasion?

I prefer to read about your experiences all things 'blade '

Who we choose to support in this hobby is just as important as the blades themselves - maybe more. Some people just don't get that.

Not trying to argue.

Pointing out that science can eliminate a lot of doubt and emotion.

MKT has a lot of science and skill behind its craft. No case or foamy bed required.

Lol ok new guy with 5 posts. It's all part of the discussion.
Why does his post count matter? He's entitled to an opinion as much as shane is entitled to his. A lot of dudes outside of these forums think of blade forums as an echo chamber and an elitist good ol' boys club, and it's comments like this that are the reason they get that impression. Saying the Greg Medford is a scumbag is just as valid of an opinion as arguing that he may be a tool but the discussion is about the knives and not the man.

It's all in the delivery

To each his own. But if I’m paying upwards of 8 bills on a knife , I’d like a little care taken with the presentation. I don’t need a velvet pillow with doves flying out of the box or anything. But a padded zipper case would be nice.

I like how CRK’s come. Wrapped in a cloth and everything placed nice and tight in a decent box. I enjoy a nice presentation. But a less expensive knife (which makes up most of my collection) usually comes in a box with plastic or microfiber pouch and that’s fine me. I feel like price should dictate presentation. Just my opinion.

Well, sure!

For safe Queens, Doll them up-case and safe and all. Maybe, even share the code to your with the love of your life!

MKTs are to be out and about, bloody-sweaty and teary-eyed.

Maybe, someone here on BF can make a sheath or lanyard. They may not want to make a foamy pillow. Guessing.

Haha. If you’re gonna get all pissy and act like an ass then try to at least show a little class a respect. Just because someone has a different opinion than you is no reason to get all worked up.

So dry your tears of frustration and smarten up , new guy 🤣
