Hahaha , you can hide behind any pathetic excuse you want. Your passive-aggressive behavior is laughable just like your veiled insults. But it pleases me that you’re so easily upset by being called out.

You gotta calm down a bit, you're the one that insulted him, he didn't insult you before you insulted him. If you don't like his opinion, then attack his opinion, calling someone you don't know a joke over a knife discussion is a bit over the top. We all like our sharp pointy things, why do we need to get personal over our own opinions? TO BE CLEAR, I don't agree with D Delgadonine but you're just personally attacking him, and I can feel this is going to just turn into an ad-hominem dogpile rather than a good natured knife discussion that we should all be here for, leave that trash in the whine and cheese forum.

Oh no. I’m firmly planted here in this “discussion”. I gave my opinion earlier. Then I responded to your insensitive comment. So what else ya got?

Anyway , I do enjoy nice presentation. But I wouldn’t wanna pay “just” for presentation. I guess it depends on the knife.

If you need a case and foam, invest in a padded helmet.

Remember, avoid your own walls.
 
I don’t know from experience but I heard that Strider would send their knives out in just a plastic bag with no box. No frills.

$360! I bought a Pro-Tech Custom SnG.

Came in a foamy box and a little pouch.

Bladeplay. Off center.

Horrible QC.

I adjusted the pivot. Beautiful!...for a few openings. High maintenance, it is.

Throw it in a box=slide it in the pocket.

Just make sure it's quality.

Otherwise, I'll take my business elsewhere. Don't care about a Marachi Band or Parade presentation...
 
This is funny to me, I own three Medfords, all came with a box that is lined with a very thin foam, in other words, even though the knife might rattle around, it would still be protected, that is, If I was to keep them in their case. I use them so the cases are in storage.

I like how CRK’s come. Wrapped in a cloth and everything placed nice and tight in a decent box. I enjoy a nice presentation. But a less expensive knife (which makes up most of my collection) usually comes in a box with plastic or microfiber pouch and that’s fine me. I feel like price should dictate presentation. Just my opinion.

I agree. It’s not that the knives are so fragile they require protection from damage, but it’s a reflection of the maker’s pride in the product as well as a token of appreciation to the buyer. No one’s arguing the need for satin pillows, but a CRK-like package is pretty much perfect — and they do it for all their folders. Rockstead and Grimsmo are two others that are fittingly well-presented. Necessary? Of course not (and neither are the knives), but it shows respect for the buyer.

In my experience, the plastic boxes are lined with foam, there’s other paperwork and stickers and the knife is wrapped up. I’m unclear as to what damage could be incurred.

This is true. If the Medford wasn’t so huge I’d put it in my knife case but my point was since they include their own S3 hard case would it be too much to ask for a foam insert that prevents it from banging around inside the case? Why even bother providing a hard case at all then?
