“Do you decided”?Do you decided you won’t post a video then? Wonder why that is?
Yeah you did because it wasn’t blocked yesterday when I searched those Spyderco posts. You blocked it after you made that comment about me blocking mine.. which is hilarious considering you mocked me for it.Do you decided you won’t post a video then? Wonder why that is?

Oh look, the guy complaining about me commenting in his thread has now started this whole thing up again by quoting one of my posts.. twice.
Yeah? I must’ve missed the “Spyderco is lazy, stupid, and incompetent for using cheap packaging” post you started. Care to post the link here?
The cases have foam in them. Are you trying to pretend they’re just hard plastic inside?
This will be my last post in your thread. I already disproved your assertions but for some reason you can’t handle people disagreeing with you. So for that reason, I’m out.![]()
I like seeing this. It has a darn case. I would say the bubble wrap is almost unexpected at that point. I am glad you posted your experience. Here’s one last post to show everyone how disingenuous you’re being:
First layer: Corrugated box

Second layer: bubble wrap

Third layer: Pelican-type case

Fourth and fifth layer: foam liner of case with bubble wrapped knife

It does not “bang around inside the case”. It might budge millimeters left or right if you shake it with all your strength.
But Medford is “lazy and incompetent” I guess
Enjoy bashing Greg for no legitimate reason.
I didn’t change anything yesterday. If it was limited it would have been a while back I guess. Keep you skirt on.Yeah you did because it wasn’t blocked yesterday when I searched those Spyderco posts. Gus, can I ask what more you were looking for? A cutout in the foam to provide more protection? I am unfamiliar with medford but surprised they offered a case of that quality which you don't see every day. I can understand disappointment. I paid over a K for a Busse and got a box with bubble wrap and a cardboard blade cover. Not what I was expecting but the blade did not suffer. My Lochsa came in a nice box and bubble wrap years ago. My J Neilson (as a JS) was in its sheath and bubble wrapped.I didn’t change anything yesterday. If it was limited it would have been a while back I guess. Keep you skirt on.
Oh and here you go. Just to prove I know what I’m talking about and that you’re absolutely wrong.

An example of the knifecenter.com rike packagingGus, can I ask what more you were looking for? A cutout in the foam to provide more protection? I heard your video and it knocking around. It's titanium inside a foam and plastic box. We're you worried it would be damaged (not picking) or just disappointed it wasn't cut to fit in the box?
Was the knife damaged in any way? Does the knife disappoint you?
Even my Rockstead came in a wood box and was simply packaged. Randall's over a 5 year wait come simply packaged and I place them on a different level.
Sure, I was simply commenting on how such a nice knife with such a nice case fell short by not providing sufficient foam inside to prevent the knife from banging around. That was it. I even stated earlier that I didn’t would cause any problems. The praetorian T is a large knife and doesn’t fit in the 40 knife pelican case I have or the vault case I have. Therefore, unlike most of my knives which I don’t keep in the boxes they came in, you really don’t have much of a choice but to keep it in the case Medford provides. As I stated many times earlier, it’s a nice case. However, it is disappointing to me that Medford’s solution is a cheap bubble wrap sleeve rather than more robust foam (laser cut out or not) to keep it from banging around. For a $1,000 plus knife, I felt it would have been a better touch than bubble wrap that is not going to last long, especially if you use the knife a lot. And it sure as heck (as I proved without a doubt) does not keep the knife from moving around as Queen of Cheese insists.Gus, can I ask what more you were looking for? Look at your opening comment and the part I put in BOLD:Sure, I was simply commenting on how such a nice knife with such a nice case fell short by not providing sufficient foam inside to prevent the knife from banging around. Queen Cheese just got his panties in a bunch because he apparently gets triggered when someone is even remotely critical of Medford for whatever reason.
You keep misrepresenting what you historically write and downplaying your original post. You referred to a manufacturer as “lazy, stupid, and careless” all because they didn’t customize some fancy foam cutout to your liking. Your anger at the packaging has no logical justification. In other words, you’re making something out of nothing.. insulted a manufacturer, and continually play the victim by shrugging your shoulders and saying you were “simply commenting on how a nice case fell short”. You’re either trolling, trying to take a swipe at Medford for some other reason, or forgetful of what you write. So which is it?As much as I can appreciate the craftsmanship put into a Medford Knife (I have a Praetorian T with predator ti scales), what I can't understand is why they would give you a case that has no foam insert that keeps the knife from banging around in the case. Grimsmo gives you the exact same case with a custom foam insert that fits the knife perfectly. Is Medford just lazy, stupid or careless? How hard would it have been to include a custom foam insert for that $1,000 plus knife?
Any leads on someone that makes them for Medford knives and S3 t2000 cases would be appreciated. In the meantime, I'll just make my own I guess. Even tried reaching out to Medford by email inquiring about it and after 2 emails still not one response from anyone at the company.
I am not here to pick sides but packaging does interest me. Some companies seem like they go over the top. To me I would have been thrilled to have the box.....but that's me. Everyone has expectations and experiences. When they fall short you do feel slighted.Sure, I was simply commenting on how such a nice knife with such a nice case fell short by not providing sufficient foam inside to prevent the knife from banging around. Yup and I repeatedly told you I stand by my opinion that Medford was lazy stupid or careless in this specific issue. I didn’t change that statement once. I’m not “angry” at the packaging. I just pointed out it is half assed. I then proved it bangs around. What have you proved other than you’re being a little bish?Look at your opening comment and the part I put in BOLD:

You can keep firing off the personal insults all you like. At least one of us will be keeping it civil.Yup and I repeatedly told you I stand by my opinion that Medford was lazy stupid or careless in this specific issue. I didn’t change that statement once. Yeah you’re the civil one, sure. And, again, if you could read you would see that I say she did respond and I gave them kudos and “respect” for that. You can keep firing off the personal insults all you like. At least one of us will be keeping it civil.
I could only imagine what your email to Amy looked like. If you spoke to her like you speak to me, I’m not surprised she ignored you.
I got packaging I’m happy with. You don’t I guess. Maybe you can send it back for a refund? Tell them “the foam packaging and bubble wrap broke my robust titanium bomb-proof knife and I’m really upset about it”Yeah you’re the civil one, sure. And, again, if you could read you would see that I say she did respond and I gave them kudos and “respect” for that.
what else ya got?
I do know I sound like I am riding a fence. I am truly interested in other manufacturers packaging as I've seen Chris reeves classy boxing, Striders simple boxing, Busses basic cardboard and all in between. I just never gave it much thought.I am not here to pick sides but packaging does interest me. Some companies seem like they go over the top. I just recently (3 days ago) bought a Rekat Sifu CF in D2 from Arizona Custom Cutlery. It came in the same tube and bubble wrap as when I got it years ago. To me when I sold it to pay bills it was a grail knife the tube brought back fond memories and knowing I reunited with an old friend.
Knives make us do and feel silly things. I equate it to hunting rifles or competition pistols. If it's not exactly how you envisioned it.....it's not right.
Mt first Benelli ethos had a mark on the stock (my daughters middle name) and I almost lost my shit. It's a 2k shotgun. My daughter ignored the mark and just loved it's light handling and that it was for her. I feel we set our expectations very high and its easy to fall from a pedestal. Not saying you are but I also understand people wondering what the issue is. Since we all have different expectations. Mine is 1911s. If it ain't perfect....fudge it.
This is the first time I’ve ever heard complaints about Medford’s packaging. While it’s nice to have over the top packaging, I’d personally rather they just take the added cost out and send it to me in a simple box like Spyderco or Benchmade, and let me put the extra $20 back in my pocket. These are sturdy pocket knives, not watches or eyeglasses.I do know I sound like I am riding a fence. However I do compare it to pistols. My Atlas Chaos was supremely packaged and set up for me. Far beyond a kimber and colt. If you pay the $, the stuff should be right.
