Pics and thoughts when it gets to you, please. I'm especially interested in the secondary lock. I'm still thinking of getting a large version when they're available, but I'm not sure about the lock.

you and me both. had to see their new secondary lock deal on it...also curious how their 8cr13mov compares to spyderco and Kershaw etc.

Great news! I can now order the master tanto line so I’m assuming they are out any day now. Then hopefully the Tai Pan!

They look well worth 30 and 40 each. Just for something to carry just in case. Especially when you're in a situation where you might not want to carry something expensive.

^I prefer without it, but it's no deal breaker...get mine monday......

Got it just now. The good, it's centered, very solid no blade play, flips very quickly and easily, (no wrist) sharp and well made for a 30 dollar knife.

The bad. The safety works well rattles badly unless engaged. Its just a simple slide deal that moves up behind the liner lock and blocks it. The liner lock is hard to release. Damn hard. I have to really dig my index finger in deep to unlock it.

good feedback Jill. thanks.

mines in mailbox.....get it when I get home. I'll see how mine compares on rattle of second lock deal and hard to open liner on yours.

It's definitely lacking in refinement. I flip knives everyday and flipping this I've decided, while not hard is no pleasure.

mine has the second lock rattle too. can't be adjusted out by the screws. already tried. tightening and loosening seems to adjust how far the linerlock can be pushed back. liner lock isn't bad on mine. pretty normal on mine. flipping is easy on mine. no effort but not bearing feel either but it's a value folder.

mine came with a bit obtuse bevels. kinda dull...but already fixed that enough to get a working edge on it. easy to sharpen like all 8cr13mov I own.

its thick but thin in width. feels much smaller than 4". a 5" or 4.75" version would be better than a 6" with a silly overly large and awkward handle size.

pocket clip plastic deal is okay. a tiny bit of a pocket grabber holder....but no real issue there. some pics.....

If I open it by the blade, instead of flipping it then it unlocks a lot easier

gotcha. less stick on the thumb stud open.

mine locks up earlier thumb stud open. flipped open it's much later. doesn't really stick though. maybe yours will settle in and not stick so much?

Guys, I got both the 4" and 6" today. FYI - I own almost all Cold Steel folders whether I can legally carry them or not. It's been a dry spell for a few months waiting on the 2018 releases, yes I know the Storm Cloud is out, but it hasn't floated by boat yet.

I'll call these 2 Luzons home runs but not grand slams! I love the look, the price, and quality on these 2 are fine. It's interesting that I played with the knives for a half hour before posting and didn't notice the rattle.

Pro:
-I LIKE the flipping action on both, its not a top ten flipper but I'm not at all disappointed. I've seen varying degrees of quality control from CS, so no surprise if your mileage varies.
-the liners are substantially milled out on both sizes - I am impressed.
-No sharp edges on the liners or flipper tab - I'm impressed as I've bought several $100-$250 knives with sharp corners on the liners.
-Thumb stud appears to be held on by a very tiny set screw on both models. They could have made it simpler but they didn't.
-Lockup on both knives is superb even without our beloved Triad lock.
-When flipping open the 6", it makes that "THWACK" sound just like a large Triad.

Observations:
-The 6 inch was sharper than the 4". Both cut standard office paper pretty well, but sharpness seems to be below normal for a new Cold Steel.
-On both of them, the safety slider button was marked up. It's either a manufacturing or handling issue or someone was playing with these knives before I got them.
-4" has the best feeling grip with a slight hot spot on the liner lock.
-6" offers many grip options, none are terrible but most are not particularly plesant. Best feel is a hammer or saber grip as far back as possible, choking up on the knife less pleasant.
-Interesting that the pivots appear to be the same size even though the 6" has enough material to make 3 or 4 4-inch models.

Cons:
-Again I'm not too keen on the 6" handle, but how can you complain about this monster of a knife at this low price?
-(Edit) the slider rattle - it doesn't bother me all that much.

Obsessing:
-I'm going to buy another 4" and cut/file off the tabs to make a modern traditional folder. Heck the fuller functions as a nail nick. I'm going to do it just because I thought of it!!!
-Okay Cold Steel, I'm waiting on the 5 inch and 3.25" versions with S35VN!

We're HOT for COLD Steel ;^)
