Medium Luzon shipping

I'd like to see it refined, with a safety that was in a metal holder to slide in. S35V steel and of course other small details like the clip, plus maybe lighten the knife up even more.

I'm okay with it as is as its value. if it was upgraded I'd prefer it be a bit wider....not thicker, but wider.

Does the secondary safety automatically engage when the knife is opened or is it manual?

It's a strong knife and mine is flipping easier than it was. Mine came sharp as any CS and it has a strong detent. I like it for the money.

Something else I just noticed on mine. The point sets up closed high enough to catch meat on a finger ran over it. I didn't cut myself just discovered it could slice a finger open.

Jimislash made a youtube vid of the Large Luzon and he discusses the same issue you brought up. What a bummer.
I'm always amazed when these companies put out a knife with an obvious defect. They clearly don't have a system in place for evaluating a production sample before making an entire production run.

A closed folder shouldn't be a hazard. As it is I easily could have ripped my finger open if I hadn't noticed the proud tip.

Here's Jimi's video mentioned above. He actually had the tip on his snag and partially open in his pocket. I'm really bummed about this. I know CS will do a revision, but that's another wait. :(

And I was really looking forward to sitting by the fire, sharpening my Large Luzon on a bear femur. :D

It sucks CS let it go out with such a dangerous flaw. I didn't like it a lot at first, then I started to warm up to it even though it is a bear to unlock. Now I'm back to not liking it because i'm not going to carry it!

I was gonna say the spine along the swedge could be ground down to bring the tip under the level of the handle, but you might want to hold off in case CS offers a swap on a revised model in the future.

Hard to believe that CS would miss such a basic design flaw . Maybe some parts just didn't get milled down enough to allow the knife to close fully ? Still very bad QC and I expect better from CS .
