Well that was interesting viewing Jimislash's video.
1) Being a righty, I had not tried the thumb stud using my left hand on either the 4" or 6" - yes, the thumbstud is useless for lefties. However it left hand flips just fine.
2) I am disappointed they did not include a left side plastic pocket clip - they did on the Grik last year.
3) Safety issue - with the 4" model folded closed, I have pressed my finger around the blade tip as hard as possible, moving it back and forth and cannot cut or snare myself on the tip. Mine passes with flying colors. But it is obvious the design leaves little room for error and the manufacturing variances are creating a problem.

Cold Steels's quickest fix would be to shorten the blade 1/16 to 3/32" and extend the back spacer down to fill in the end of the handle. More expensive fix, extend the scales and liners at the back of the handle 1/16 to 3/32 inch.

4) Tried the finger rub on the 6" Luzon folded closed and cut myself, but only after determinedly pressing my finger between the liners. Yes, Cold Steel you should correct this! But at the same time, it is not an issue, I can't edc these giant Cold Steels's , no matter how much I love to own them.

We warrant that this product is free of defects in workmanship and materials. This warranty does not cover normal wear and tear, damage caused by misuse, lack of normal maintenance, or disassembly. ... Please use caution when handling Cold Steel® products. Knives are extremely sharp.
I guess there's no warranty for bad designs as well

I suppose if you send it back they're going to replace or fix it then.

I don't know how CS is going to handle this yet. They're apparently not all like this, so there are good ones out there. Were it me, I'd just return it to the store I bought it from and have them either check the replacement before sending it out or just give me a refund. A lot of places will even email you a prepaid return shipping label if you got a defective knife.

I met Lynn Thompson at the CS parking lot sale. Super cool guy. I don't see why he would not remedy this if you choose to go that route.

I'll wait on the 6in for them to be fixed or when I can handle one in a store to make sure it's not going to cut me when closed. Bit bummed as I was really looking forward to this but can wait a bit longer.

I got my money back and spent it on another knife. Cold Steel gets this fixed the Luzon for certain is a good knife for the money. I would like to see them upgraded to a better steel and refined on the safety, lock, maybe just overall. I know I wouldn't mind paying more.

I didn't know a knife could be biased. I always thought of being biased as a human trait. :D
Yes. If you lift the blade about an inch from the closed position and it snaps shut after you let go of the blade it is biased towards closure. Some knives will just stay in the partially opened position and neither close or open any further when released.

Cold Steel lock springs are usually almost too strong and hard to open until broken-in .

Did CS decide not to bring these back ? I thought they'd quickly get them back on the market guess I was wrong!
