Mega RF2 Work In Progress!

Oh my goodness that looks craaaaazy sick!!!!!!!!!!!!!! D, the lines are flow together nicely and the milling on the spine makes me scream!..LOLOL

I sent the Mega off to Siberia for Winter training...

Milling the lockbar recess.

This took about 50 passes and was done with a HSS 1/2" ball end mill. I like to take the recess down so about .070" for strong, smooth action.

 
I cleaned up my milling by hand and bent the lockbar.

I'm cleaning up my miling with a sponge that has the same ceramic grit as the purple belts I use... they work nicely for making everything smooth.

 
I busted out the hacksaw and clamp on vise... cut some Zirconium stock for a clip.

I rough shaped the clip and milled it with the same 1/2" ball end mill.

Clip shaped and heating!

I'm going for a black finish on the Zirconium. The finish is extremely durable, even fine sandpaper will not scratch it. :cool:
