You're making some great knives Rick. I carry your Half Congress everyday. It's become my favorite traditional slip joint.

Thanks for spending time here with us knifenuts, and thanks for the drawing!

Awesome giveaway, Rick! Thank you so much for the chance.

I was first drawn to Rick's work when I saw a photo of a Menefee Made Lanny's Clip that Flymon posted in the Menefee thread. It completely blew me away! Still does, as a matter of fact. It didn't take me long after that to get on Rick's list.

My very first custom slipjoint was this Menefee Made Wichita Trapper in Green Canvas Micarta that I got only one month ago. (please excuse my horrible pics) It's a true masterpiece as far as I'm concerned and I know I am very lucky to have it. Thank you, Rick for this outstanding piece of fine craftsmanship.

This contest is going to be a lot of fun. I will totally freak out if I win!

I will admit that I am very new to this section of the forums, but I definitely like what I see and I plan on lurking around here a lot in the future (I am a lurker, at least I admit it).

This was my first attempt at a spoon, it is now my coffee scoop. I enjoyed carving it and can see myself continuing with woodcarving as a hobby.

I wish I had something traditional to add here but sadly the only slipjoint I currently own is a SAK.

Maybe this giveaway will remedy that...

I'd love a chance to own one of your knives. I have no custom slipjoints yet but now is a great time to start.
Here is a pic of my JK Rule #9 on the dock during my last visit home. I know, I know. I ask myself the same thing. Why in the world would I leave home?

Can't upload anything from where I'm at right now, but I have to say I've been lusting after that ivory wharncliff.

Rick, Thanks for the give-away! You're a helluva knife maker
and a great friend! This is my favorite knife....

Here's me hitting one back up the middle...lol.

Wow, for the winner, this would just be a dream come true..
I can't even imagine what it would feel like to actually get a custom slipjoint made for you, i have been lurking in the traditional thread for sometime now, and i never see a custom made slipjoint that i could ever afford (at this point in my life age 23), I have always loved and respected your work because it was something that was more affordable, beside the point that it was beautifully executed traditional work... I really believe that with all the over-tactical style knives out there - that for a knife for someone is to carry EVERYday all they really need is a beautiful slipjoint(depending on where you live but to a large %).. I would be honored to enter this contest!!

Not to mention i've had this dream design of a modified doctors knife (thats all i'll say for all the other makers lurking and reading lol)
I appreciate the opportunity!
Count me in.

I've had too much luck with GA's to enter this one, I think. Although, man, I wish I could. Good on ya for doing this.

Mighty generous of you. This is also a great way for people that don't own slip joints to get introduced to this side of the knife hobby.

My favorite maker is a toss up between Darrel Ralph and Pohan Leu. I can go either way. Both listen to my input and make a knife around my specifications. In the end, I have a true custom that I either designed entirely or had enough input to make the knife truly unique, a one of a kind.

Hi Rick,

Thanks so much for the opportunity to partake in your very generous giveaway. My favorite knife at the moment is a shadow toothpick from Ken Coats that I had the good fortune to purchase right here on Bladeforums.

I've been admiring your work in several threads and would love to have one of your knives as well.

Thanks again for the chance.

Rick, thank you very much for this opportunity. It is really generous of you.

I went through your entire "Rick Menefee Knives" thread and found my favorite. I remember when I first saw it thinking, that thing could do some serious work on the salmon up here in Washington. It's not my knife, obviously, so I hope nobody minds me posting the picture it.

I also know you like hunting White Tail so I thought I'd share a picture of last years buck. He was harvested in Northeastern Washington outside of Colville, WA.

Lastly, while we're sharing pictures, here is a picture of the first knife I have freehand ground on the 2X42 Craftsman. I just got it back from heat treating. I'll edit in the finished knife if I'm done before this thread is closed.

EDIT: I finished it! Number 6.

Always loved the look of Rick's Trapper's and fixed blade drop point's as well. One day I'll scrape enough cash to get one.

Wow, what a generous give away Rick. Even if I don't win I'm happy knowing my number will come up one day.

I have a few customs but very few that I've had input in. My Mike Alsdorf Slimline Trapper is my favorite of my customs.

I don't have one yet but I think a Schrade 294 would be my favorite production knife. (Charlie, I hope you don't mind me borrowing your pic)

The closest I have to it are my GEC #48 Jacks with the Tidioute Green bone being my favorite/most used one.

I don't have a Menefee knife but I thought you might enjoy this Robeson ShurEdge made in about 1948. Thanks for the opportunity, very nice of you.

Thanks for the opportunity, Rick! I could use a good knife to help "protect" my Grandkids and me from some of the local wildlife here in South Central Texas!!!!! LOL!

Ron

Don't have a Menefee..... yet. Just seem to miss picking one up on the secondary market. Very generous offer for a give-away!!

I love Wharncliffe blades so this tends to spend most of the pocket time these days.

Very generous Rick! Thank you for the gesture!

First is a stock photo from Keith R. Johnson of a 3 1/2" Trapper; this is my first and only custom slipjoint and really enjoying it!

Second photo is of a 6' black bear I took last Memorial weekend south of Homer, AK.
