Merry Christmas

Anyone get any cool gifts? My granddaughters keep teasing me about how I like KitKat candy bars. They got me a big package of them, a bag of Combos, a box of apple cider mix, and a copy of Handguns magazine. They know what I like!

Christmas Eve we do 1 or 2 small gingerbread houses from the store, and then make cookies like me and my sister would do for Santa. We just continued on as we got older making cookies some themed and some just odd funny cookies. We open presents Christmas Eve and when we where little Santa’s gifts would be the only thing there on Christmas Day. But now we only do stockings on Christmas Day and a prime rib roast for lunch.

Knife related I got my dad a new knife to go with his Benchmade 940. Me and the fiancée picked him up a ZT 0450 and he loves it. I got some air pods from my parents and some small little nerdy things related to Harry Potter, Star Wars, and two Pokémon lil pose-able figures that I can put above my leather bench. Along with shirts and some cash to buy something for myself. With some great family memories once again

Sounds like you have some nice traditions.

Awesome gifts!

I got Maggie a ZT0900BLU - and, and you guys will love this; a Case Peanut in Caribbean blue bone. The local hardware has a wonderful selection of Case knives and the owner is a knife affectionado. He was excited to open up the knife and make sure it was perfect. Maggie was very happy as was I - to see your wife "coon-fingering" her Christmas knife.... @waynorth would be proud!

very nice! The 0900 is one of my newer favorites from ZT and it’s hard to beat a good peanut.

Also got my fiancée some custom Harry Potter themed microfiber handkerchiefs for cleaning her glasses and a nice clicky pen from karas Kustoms

I got some much needed clothes. My birthday was not too long ago and my family gave me a couple mornings worth of waterfowl hunting. That was a pleasant surprise. Now if I only had my JK B&T...

I got a scroll saw, which I've been on the hunt for since starting to do wood prototypes for the new biz. Should speed things up a bit once I get the hang of it. It's been a while since I've used one. The basement workshop is looking pretty busy already.

Merry Christmas, and happy holidays!

It was perfect here, just time family, good food, and a few days away from work - what more could anyone ask for?

Merry Christmas everyone. I've been battling an upper respiratory tract infection for the past week, so I didn't get to partake in much of the festivities. I got to spend Christmas Eve and Christmas morning with my daughter, though, and that's all I really care about. Slept from about noon yesterday til 530am this morning with barely any improvement. :( Here's hoping I don't have to go back to the doctor.

Merry Christmas,
my gift to me - I RETIRED
John S.
Awesome! I am looking at July of this year for me to retire.
Now you will have time to travel down to TN to visit - and there is very little light pollution where we live......Welcome anytime!

We had a very nice Christmas. It was just my family (kids and their significant others). Smoked a brisket (first time) and it came out great.

My Brother in law requested brisket since I offered to cook whatever he wanted - I did a practice one that came out ok - the second one was outstanding. Mustard rub....I look forward to getting back into cooking - maybe after Jan 08 when the appliances are installed.....

Good to hear from the JK Brothers.

Who needs a kitchen when you have a smoker and a grill? I'm up for a gathering at your place. I have a new job and purchased a nice Acura SUV. I am used to long hours driving and can take a few people with me - like John if he has the time off. The car was my gift to myself this Christmas. All my kids are older so they just get money which is typically used on clothes. Let us know about a gathering. I am sure we can bring tents and make your yard look like a homeless encampment for a weekend (minus the odors, feces and needles of course).
