A 1950's era SHUR-LOCK fishing knife.
It's lever lock system may not have been the ultimate idea, but it sure makes this all stainless-steel American made knife a very unique one 😁

This specimen that I own, although being about 70 years old, is almost in mint condition...



It was made by I. & J. Manufacturing of Plainfield, NJ between 1947 and 1952. It's unusual locking mechanism works like this...
Opening the lever releases the blades from their closed position. Closing the lever locks whichever blade you extend into place... Or, one can close the lever to lock them when blades are folded down. Pat. 2617187 was filed in 1949, and seems to have been all legit by 1952.

Hi Charlie. I have a letter from John that about 8-10 years ago he made a group of of different knives from stainless to copper and others. This was one of them. I’ll find the info and send it to you.
