I remember Esso.
There was an 2 bay Esso service station in the neighboring town my mum lived in. He mainly did LOF's, batteries, tyre repair, and used tyres.
I think it shut down when the owner either finally retired or passed on (he was in his 80's), in the late 60's.
He didn't have any family, and "never" had any employees, according to my mum and step pop, who lived just outside that town, and bought most of their gasoline there.

Nice advertising lobster. I wonder if customers got one after a certain number of fill-ups, or an Lube, Oil & Filter change?

I hoped to bring back memories with that knife.
It so happens, my grandfather was a captain of an oil tanker in the 50's.( his knife)

I miss those old stations. The mechanics really cared about the cars and customers.
