I think have the same colour of electrical micarta at home, it almost looks like g10, and is a kind of avocado colour.

I am going to only send one slab to one knifemaker and at no charge, I will wait until he says it can be used as we all hope and think, but I am not wasting my time or your shipping cost until I know it is what you need. I will try to be gathering the slabs up, IF THE OWNER will let me have more of it. But I will not ship until I KNOW you can use it. Hope you understand and will be patient with me. I have about 30 requests so far and do not want to just be shipping out junk. Again, all I will ask is shipping cost. Priority mail box may be the cheapest if the weight is not too much. I will keep everyone posted on how the project is going. BUT don't hold up any knives waiting on the green stuff.

Sounds extremely fair.

Thanks,

Charles

Some have emailed me that they want to use the slabs as fixtures and or working surfaces. Please let me know if that is your case. Because, If I do get some this morning, I do not mind sending it out for that purpose. That is what is was being used for by Westinghouse. So, the ones that wanted it for that, state the min. size you need and send me another email and put "Micarta Fixtures" in Subject line. Thanks for your help.

PS: Can only respond to those sending emails with "Mircarta Fixtures" in subject line.

Please reread post 30 or entire thread.
I need your help, if I am to do this with any organization at all.
Thank You,
James

This what I picked up this morning. The owner called it Micarta and said I could have all I wanted, It is more than I can deal with. A tractor trailer load is in his back storage yard. All sizes, some slabs are 3' by 4' and weigh close to 200 lbs as it is 2" thick. I am posting pictures and If anyone lives close enough to drive, you can pick it up. As much as you can carry. At least the owner said it was of no use to him. And I could have all I wanted. Here is all I could carry this morning. Due to time constraints.

those would make rocking shop tops and jigs
but i also know how it looks on a knive handle as ive worked with some before
deker is working out the shipping and what not for me and him to keep things simple since we are so close

I just shipped one piece out for testing to see if the material is good for anything other than jigs and vice jaws. If you will look in the upper right corner of the photo attached. That piece weighed 25 pounds. That is right, 25lbs. It cost me about 9.50 Fedex Ground to MN. That was and is the smallest piece I had to send for someone to test. I should hear back in a few days. I do not know the cost to your location until I plug in the zip codes and weights. But this stuff is Heavy.
Upper Right= 25lbs Smallest piece in photo.
