Micarta VS G10

G10 can be made smooth or rough. I believe it is more resistant to more chemicals than micarta. I like both of them but I think G10 has more advantages.

I LOVE blue twill G-10!! I have a few folders with it. I have a fixed blade that has some AWESOME green micarta. I will include pix of that too.

Just get a BM Rukus and you get both. :p

Both are excellent materials, I wouldn't put too much emphasis on the material but rather the execution and design of the handles/scales.

How true.
I just purcahsed an Al Mare S.E.R.E. that has the best handles I've ever used. The design is rather plain, but they feel great. They dont feel like G-10 at all.

BTW, look at either material under a pocket micrscope and you will see some real differences. Linen micarta is really fuzzy compared to most G-10.

I know this is off topic but I just had to say, very nice collection TKC. I especially like Seans work. He is working on a frame lock folder for me.

Micarta, without a doubt.

They really aren't that different. Both are resin impregnated. Just different fabrics.
