I`m going to issue a challenge. I challenge everyone to get by with using just two cutting tools for the weekend. It can be two knives, a knife and an axe, or even a knife and saw. Anybody up for it? Usually there are about 20 or so knives lying around, that never get used anyway, so why bring them unless you have something new to show, then bring them.

We usually have some sort of contest, lots of good food and alcohol, and maybe a sell / trade table. Plus lots of interesting conversation.

If we are going to have a carving contest - I'll bring the basswood blocks -

That will limit your knife choices for carving, or maybe it will make your knife choice obvious.

I like bringing knives to these just TO show and tell - a lot of times people in my area are just "meh" about my knives, and at these gatherings is where I can show them off.

But - If I am choosing two, it'll be the XD XM and the DBH.
