I was halfway through typing up a review of the Bravo-1 when I came across this review by 3Wolves
http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=568641
I Thought he did an excellent review and I couldn't think of anything else to say about the Bravo-1 . Along with my Bravo and Ferro rod, I have a Micro Cannuk attached to my sharpshooter sheath and it has been growing on me for the past week. I have used it daily, and today I decided to take a few pics. I use the micro as a drill to start fire boards, a scraper to separate fibers for cordage, I made two Paiute traps with it today, and lets not forget making fuzz sticks. I have a pic today of the whole set up, and a pic of one of the fuzz sticks. Tomorrow I will post pics of the Paiute traps, as well as a mod I did to the spine. I am right handed, and I rounded the right side of the spine and half of the left side nearest the handle. I put an edge on the left side of the spine on the last half inch of the blade to help with striking the Ferro Rod.

In the end, I've quickly grown fond of this little knife. I have found it to be far more useful than its size suggests. I will post a few pics each day this week of different things I use the knife for

looks like a neat little knife, and sounds handy.

also, sounds like a good couple of mods you did there too, to make the knife more comfortable.

You know, for a small knife, the micro seems like a huge performer. The blade is only 1/4" longer than the one on a vic classic and everyone uses theirs for pretty big stuff. I have gotta get that sheath though, the kydex is just so annoying.

I couldn't stand the included kydex. It was very uncomfortable and seemed to ride very on my belt. I love the leather sharpshooter sheath. I found that the micro cannadian also fits in the same manner but vertically on my leather Aurora sheath. I have another micro being delivered on tuesday for the Aurora.

OK its day two of my Micro Cannuk review. Today I'm gonna make a paiute deadfall with a piece of maple and my micro.
To start, I'll carve the main sticks for the trap
micro020.jpg

I love using the Micro on wood less than an inch thick. It holds its edge very well and slides through wood with less resistance than expected, especially considering the leverage loss due to the short handle.
Next, I'll take a 3/4in wide branch and split it down the middle.

Now, peel the bark away from the wood
micro006.jpg

scrape the cadmium layer up to the inside edge of the now-removed bark until the bark fibers can be removed
micro007.jpg

micro015.jpg

now, simply twine the bark fibers
micro016.jpg

and assemble the trap

the paiute has a VERY sensitive trigger

Nice thread. Keep it up Bro. I also have, use & enjoy a Micro-Can. I need to get some pix. Anyway mine is A2 with aged Bamboo. Great little knife! I also have a few other Barkies. One of them is a Northstar With Bamboo. Thinkin' hard about that "piggy back" setup! Enjoy, M

Thats some cool stuff, I hope to learn that trap soon.

Thanks for sharing.

Ofcourse the blades look great also.

I'm gonna use it tomorrow to carve some simple bone hooks (george type) as well as a few other things. I can't think of a better edge retention test than carving bone or antler

Boy that's a very sweet set up I am looking foward to getting a Bravo-1 in the near furture.Members on this forum have done a great job with reviews about the knife that it makes the decision so much easier.

I got my second micro today and put it on the sheath of my Aurora. Fits the same way as the bravo-1 set up.

Day 3- Bone Carving
I started with a couple pieces of femur from one of last years deer.
microandhooks018.jpg

I split them with the micro (sorry, forgot to take a pic) then carved some simple george hooks out of the bone splinters. I added some twined artificial sinew to make the snells.

I have not had to re-sharpen the knife during the testing until now. Carving and splitting hard bone really takes its toll on an edge. I used 2000 wet/dry paper followed by the green compound on my strop and brought the knife back to shaving sharp in less than 5 minutes. I just got my second Micro and put it on my Aurora sheath.

love that set up. I've almost bought a micro can several times. Guess I should jump on one soon!

i really love that sheath setup. I've seen several piggybacks like that but have never really been drawn to any. this is the exception.

Nice demonstration of skills! That cordage fabrication is awesome. The Micro is one of my favorite BRKT's too.

quick question,
do you often do bushcraft in your living room? :D

Every day.....doesn't everyone?
I usually do this stuff out side but its over 90 degrees so I put out a towel and sat in the A/C . I have four ways to make cordage. I wish it wasn't so hot because I can't flint knap or practice friction fires indoors (obviously). I love those little george hooks. They are really effective on little panfish. I have a bone tipped spear that I use for catfish. It has a detachable head to protect the shaft and its collapsible.

and this is the joint that connects the two 6ft sections of the shaft
