Microtech/Benchmade rummors?

The roadsideimports guy had an account here and was banned for being a belligerent moron. You have to be pretty bad to be banned from this forum as the moderators are very lenient here. I wouldn't believe a word that guy says.
he riped me off on another site and I am not the only one that gave him neg for doing so. I will not sell or deal with him.

If you have an issue with a knife, it takes what most would consider an unreasonable amount of time to get a hold of someone on the phone, many have reported that emails largely go unanswered, etc. Specifically. Browse the forums search for "Microtech Customer Service" and you will find some very unhappy customers. Admittedly, not all requests are reasonable, but it shouldn't take weeks to get someone to reply to email.

Hey Rev, I value your opinion so I hate to hear that about microtech.

I do want to add my experience in though. I left a message on their answering machine late thursday night, and received a call early Friday morning (last week) from a nice lady who answered all of my questions.

I do know that if you want work done, and done quickly, then getting an RA and sending the knife in through a dealer is the way to go.

I also wanted to add this piece of info. Right around the time that all of these reports of bad dealings with microtech came out is the same time that microtech was having issues with their gun line. They had loads of trouble with that, and I imagine a lot of their resources went to that. They have since quit making guns, so hopefully their attention is back on knives and customer service.

Here's hoping..... :)

They had issues with CS long before MSAR existed. They have been known to just not send your knife back. Ever

Thanks CTS, I too value and respect your views and what you've done for the knife community. It's a mixed bag at best with the customer service. I'm happy to hear about the good experience you had with MT. The other issues that are eclipsing the customer service issues are the IP theft/ ZT issue. I don't think that one will be over by a long shot.

I have a utx-70(one of the newer tanto models) it is wonderful and have never had an issue with it. There is super little blade play for a OTF. I Microtechs sucked so much none would buy them. and there are many many die hard microtech users. The thing is everyhere here and there (sadly more then never) you get the lemon in the batch. You got to know otf automatics are probably one of the most finicy knives out there to build and make, and microtech has made some great and some bad peices. Most microtech in my opinion are for the collection and not for war.

Not to argue - because they're still around and all but I can get Italian side opening autos with real stag or horn scales to around $65 - $90 which are much nicer, just as fast as MT's and the beauty is, you can buy a 8 of them (give or take) for doing w/o the dubiuous name of Microtech on them.

Nope, there is no excuse for that...

I have both the infidel mini and a troodon. I liked the infidel and ordered a full size infidel well it wouldn't lock up consistently and so I returned it after calls to both my retailer and Benchmade I chose to get a combat Troodon.
It will be here tommorow. Btw I like the troodon better nothing bad to say about the mini but that fullmsize infidel
Left me with the feeling I can't trust it to open. I want to know is there any OTF that will work in dirty dusty sandy environments day in day out w/o daily cleaning.
