Just received my socom delta from Microtech this morning after a few weeks of being at their repair shop for a sticky detent. I have to say that their customer service is excellent, so many bad reviews made me worry about the fate of my knife but they came through very nicely. Knife came back to me packaged as it it was brand new, oiled, sharpened & fixed with an invoice of what was done. I was kept up to date of the progress with emails, and they do answer their phone when called. Some knife companies with top reviews for customer service didn't go as far as Microtech did with me. Hopefully its not just my case and Microtech is back on the ball. Anyway, Great job Microtech!!

Sounds like Tony decided to finally get his head out of his A** and decide that he had better start taking care of his customers, or there wouldnt be anymore customers.

While we are talking about microtech. What is their policy on sharpening knives bought off of the forums?.

I know I can call and ask, but I figured I would get a quicker response here.

Thanks..

I own a Scarab and a couple Socom Elites, and recently was given a Socom Delta. Solid knives all around, happy with the quality so far. The Deltas blade is off center scraping the liner. I cannot budge the pivot even with a T30, don't want to wreck the pivot so it's going to need to get back to the mothership for a minor tweak.

Best to just call for that IMO...
I think that is the best course. I'll do that in the morning.
Fill out the online form for an RA#, Ive done it three times. Got the RA# the next day on two, & the same day on one.
The knife I need to return is not on the list. I was browsing their site last night.

Just minor tune up issues, three different knives.

Gotcha. Not trying to be nosey, but just wondering...

My own experience has been better. Out of 100+ Microtechs over the years, only 2 went back for service.

RevDevil's post got me looking again at MT's website. It's been redone with new forms and such.

Seems it was much needed and I'm sure appreciated by consumer folks...

What did they do for the sticky detent? I have the same problem with mine...sometimes it is so tight the blade tries to pry the lockbar from the frame...P****s me off to no end.

My guess would be a complete tear down and reassembly. Kind of tough when you can't do it yourself.

Actually...I can...they sent me a driver bit when I bought my stonewashed Select Fire. Out of the box the sheath buckle was broken and the clip screw was sticking out 2 threads. The screw had too much shoulder and wouldn't thread any further, so they sent me a new screw and a driver bit. I know it will void my warranty but I really don't care...I'd hate to be without my new toy for 3 weeks. You can actually feel the ball stick inside the detent...drives me crazy when it happens. I look like a dingbat who can't open a knife...

Just rounded my pivot screw today on my delta its not off center or anything I just can't seem to leave stuff alone.

As far as microtech CS is concerned I give them a thumbs up for sure. Never had to send in a knife but I did have to order a screw once and they shipped it for free and was at my house within a week.

That sucks, and the same thing happened here. Adjusting the pivot should be easy enough to do, I guess my T30 was hungry and took a bite out of the threads.
