Microtech Matrix/ZT0777 Controversy

My reply had absolutely nothing to do with the subject, it had to do with the sheer number of threads started on the subject. If there were as many threads about tiddlywinks, and that's what he asked about, then I'd have replied the same way. When we have tens of threads on the exact same thing, then there is no need for another. A simple search would answer probably any question about the matter.

Microtech has reevaluated their business, and actually doesn't produce the Matrix anymore. I don't care to say anything about micro tech for or against, that was just an FYI.

WTF is tiddlywinks? And yes, I did a search.

It wasn't a personal attack. I didn't any of the previous ten threads and quite frankly people dredge up old topics all the time. It just seemed like a really harsh way to slam the guy.

Tiddlywinks is this:

You press the big disc on the edge of the smaller ones and make them hop into the cup.

the thread obviously got your attention...

i mean, you did click on it and throw in your two cents.

If you feel like that was a slam then you have some paper thin skin. I wasn't rude, or hateful. I didn't attack him.

He asked for our opinion, and I gave mine. I simply suggested that he close the thread, and do a search. I guess this is the America we live in now, where suggesting doing a little work for yourself is "slamming" someone. Haha

Did not know that! Thanks for the update on the Matrix being discontinued.

And I agree with you and Rev, the "Search" function is your friend. Doing some homework before asking a question makes so much sense. But it does take some effort.

I've been reading through the old threads and they really don't say much other than microtech bashing and comparison pictures. I also haven't seen any definite statements from Thomas or other kershaw reps. He doesn't seem to want to say anything outright. I would guess that there is some sort of legal action pending and Thomas can't really say anything for that reason but if you can could we get a statement/update from you Thomas? I'm really curious about the whole thing.

As for the talk about microtech claiming they collaborated with a kershaw designer (sounds unlikely in my book but whatever) I haven't found anything yet, could someone fill me in on the details or point me in the right direction?

I don't think saying that "this thread has been done before" is a very legitimate complaint. Nearly all the threads on general have been done before. Hell, i've only been here a couple months and i've already seen most of them. Not to mention, this is somewhat of a current event. The 0777 hasn't even been released yet. You can clearly see what the thread is about from the title if it bothers you why on earth would you click on it and go to the trouble of posting a worthless comment? Maybe the first person that said it was trying to make a point but all of you that said "close this thread now it's been done before" are just wasting everybody's time and coming pretty close to trolling in my book.

Edit: I don't think crimsontideshooter was that out of line i just think everybody that repeated what he said was wasting space.

Oh really?

Well, since you've looked back into the old threads surely you've seen ThomasW ask multiple times that we quit dragging the issue on endlessly, right?

ETA: I'm not trying to be rude, but someone involved with the who deal has asked us to just get over it, many many times. I'm sure Thomas is just about sick of seeing it and being asked about it constantly.

What now? You have something to get off your chest? Or do you feel that we need to rehash this yet again, did we miss something?

i don't see the point on ripping on the guy. how's that better than what he's done?

ok ok, he's beating a dead horse (unintentionally). it's really not that big of a deal and most of us won't lose sleep over something so petty.

i entered this thread because i was interested in the subject.

why are you here?

haha, i'll go search elsewhere on this topic. i haven't followed the whole controversy and this is the only attention i've given to it. everyone should lighten up though. if you know a thread is bs, why do you bother getting involved? to prove a point? eh, i think not.

No, nothing important like trying to prove a point.

Mainly just the selfish and self serving reason of trying to honor the wishes of someone directly involved in the ordeal.

I gotta get outta here before I get some shiny new yellow cards under my post.

Why are you in here ? It's just to troll it seems......

i was interested in the subject actually. it wasn't my thread and i've done literally no research on the subject, not to argue with a bunch of sensitive internet personalities. as mentioned, i'll search elsewhere.

Ok, whatever. I don't care enough to have this digress into a flame war.

Yes, this is the America we live in now...posting on a forum is considered "work"
