Microtech Rike Socom Bravo

That's a pretty handsome knifed. I would say that $325 is a fair price for what they generally go for. If the local guy gets one after i recover from the holidays, that may be my first Microtech purchase of 2022.
What???

The American made Socom Elites are under $300. Why would a Chinese version cost MORE?

This is a bad joke and it's not even funny.

I'm reasonably certain a USA-made version of the new Rike-made Bravo, with the same materials and milling, would cost more than the Socom Elite.
As I understood it, The idea was to be a more affordable and available option. They're pissing down our backs and telling us it's rain.

not to mention it looks extremely cheesy. Those fullers are tacky and the carbon fiber is bland. I understand at this point I'm just giving my subjective opinion, but there is no way you could ever convince me this thing is a good idea or even a good looking knife.

Saw one at a dealer today for $475, had no clue what it was at first and almost jumped at it till I read up a little more. Sold pretty quick.

American made are barely under 300 or a bit more depending on finish. This one does have more premium materials, more like the customs it’s based on. I’m sure they’ll sell well at $325, regardless of how some of us may feel.

Yeah I get it....I'm admittedly a grumpy purist.

I just don't understand the appeal. Just because it technically has more detailed milling and extra parts doesn't make it a better knife. Or more attractive or interesting.

I certainly won’t be buying one myself, happy with my beat up plain Jane USA made socom elite :) But it definitely seems to be the market trend, how many great makers have started having Reate make their production lines? As long as they’re transparent. I guess the price isn’t too out of whack with the more high end stuff coming out of Reate, look at what some of the Begg, Chaves, Peña etc. sell for. It’s always confused me that microtech can’t crank up the socom elite production even though they seem to be able to crank out more than enough OTFs to meet demand.

Well see, that's your opinion. I like some extra milling for grip and aesthetic reasons, as long as it's done tastefully, and so do other people.
Me too!! However, in some cases PJ’s are nicer.

Also, however…haha…I’m a huge fan of the look of the Rikrotech…more so than the PJ Microtech. 🤷🏼‍♂️

I personally like the looks of the Rikrotech a lot, was ready to pay $475 for it when I thought it was USA made! It's all subjective.
