To Bahamut:

I see you have a whopping total of five posts to your credit and I'm still waiting for you to say something that either makes sence or shows any form of inteligence.

Easy enough to igonre. You should really try stating facts behind opinions and not just rant and rave. As for the quality of the MT, well I owned the clip point version, for some time and outside of the it riding to high in my pocket and banging my car door just about every time I got in it it was and is a very finely tool. Couldn't defeat the liner lock no matter how hard I banged on it or gripped the knife. Just stuck out of my pocket to darn far. Also out of all the ATS-34 knives I have owned it was hands down the sharpest and the easiest to get that way.
The ergonomics of the Axis I have may be slightly better while the lock on the blade vs. the liner lock is much, much, better. Would I own another MT, absolutely. The quality I believe is head and shoulders above most other liner locks except the true custom knives. Keep'em sharp, and now I think your mom should spank you.(couldn't resist)

The SOCOM MA is my next target after I get my EK Commander. I've heard so much about it as well, and would like to get one to see what all the fuss was about.

I kinda like the large version w/ the 4" blade. Looks scary enough. I'm thinking about giving this one as a gift to a "special someone".

Hmmmmm...

Large or mini... decisions decisions... sigh..

The SOCOM is a knife that really grows on you, like Sebenzas do for a lot of people. If you have the mini you might find that you want the full size or the clip and the tanto or the manual and automatic or black and silver or......
Anyways, it is a very good knife it is no accident that Microtech has won the Blade magazine manufacturing quality award 2 years running.

I like the Socom in D/A as well as the Sebenza. Think that the Sebenza is a bit more ergonomic. Kind of priced high for a non-custom but both pieces seem to meet my needs. for a fixed blade will forge my own. Noe from a collector standpoint I will always go with customs as the massproduced factory pieces do not seem to appreciate much if at all. Buy what you like first, but what you think will appreciate second.
