Tachyon is not a me-too, middle-of-the-road, try-to-please-everyone product. Tachyon is pushing in new directions in several ways as I will explain later today. Whenever you do something new, something creative, some people push back.

Some people will honestly not like Tachyon because it doesn't appeal to their personal ascetic tastes. This is why not everyone likes the same kind of music. If you try to create music that will at least minimally appeal to or be tolerated by everyone, you end up with what is commonly called Muzak or "elevator music".

The fact that some people will not like it is actually good. If everyone liked it, then it would be the Muzak of balisongs and we've already got enough of that.

If, based on a few fuzzy pictures, you've already decided that you don't like Tachyon, well, that's your right. But please understand that there might be some of use who do like Tachyon and please respect our right.

BTW, if you don't like Tachyon, you're gonna love the balisong that has come to be called "I Spy." Wait for it.

Just a thought, but the BM rep may have been kidding around. I know a lot of people who would reply like that, in agreeing with someone. Just a thought, anyway.

Esthetics aside, does anybody actually know anything about the Tachyon? Does it live up the original promise of no side-to-side play with the handles? Is this balisong really the epic change in bali design we were told it would be?

And although looks have their priority in my knife buying, I'm more intersted in function. Besides, I think it looks pretty cool.

Man, oh man. So many new balisongs! I for one like the look of the MT Tachyon, minus the color of the handles. I think more people would be pleased if MT would make the handles silver, like the BM42; I personally prefer that color.

Like Don said earlier, how can you not like that bowie? I think it looks badass, but I would make it a little longer.

New Benchmades are looking quite nice; can't wait to see them in person (or through high quality pics)... same goes with the Tachyon.

I also wonder if the Tachyon lives up to it's promises, as another member had said earlier. The bali market is really expanding
