Microtech Whaleshark

I think you are referring to hollow handle "survival" knives. Chris Reeve originated the hollow handle knife milled from a solid bar of steel.

didn't know that....lol, I learn a new thing everyday - love this forums! :D

Chris Reeve and Tony of MT have collaborated on knives before. Check out all the titanium one pieces on the cover page @ www.thebrightedge.com

Tony had Chris Reeve ground some blades for him back in the day so they are friends. No design theft on this one

I love the fixed blade. I'd probably buy one.

I don't like the Whale Shark though. Sorry to see MT jump on the "flipper"/framelock bandwagon. Too trendy for me.

Do you have any information about the small tanto in the picture? It looks like a Chris Reeve One-piece knife on the Atkins diet...
ROFLMAO! But quite apt. :D

I first saw the Whaleshark over a yr.ago.Look in your Knives Annual 2005.Theres a picture of it in the Manufactured or Production knives section.I always wondered what happened to it.I would love to see it being made.

I like the Lum copy with a Flipper. That one, with good steel, I would consider.

Loved the proto with its large bevels and hoped to see it in auto but it stayed a flipper and gained a pocket with dimples on the blade to make cleaning a pain.

Haha.. This post is 10 years old! Looks like the flipper/framelock trend never died. Only got better!
