Mighty miniature gladius

HA! Mystery metallurgist M. might take issue with that!

EUREKA: the sword's grip is made of layered heat-shrink tubing and rubber surgical tubing! It's can be easily disassembled. Some careful swipes on a stone, a bit of hand-sanding for the blade and it's complete.

I think the mark of a good miniature is you can't tell it's a miniature from the photo. And you have really nice clean work there. When do I get mine?

Thanks for the compliments on the sword. :) Gregorio: about the time my fingernails grow back from touching them to the grinder making this mini!

Here it is, the obligatory cutting video!

Great work on the mini - and the video. Fantastic choice of music. I was impressed and amused.

Mete has finished making a sheath for this sword, and a mighty fine one at that:

The sheath is phosphor bronze with brass top and bottom pieces.

Says Mete, "The dragons are old friends, from left - Taiwan, Poland and one I made as a kid. They spend their time here or over with the guys on Dragon's Keep Road. They decided to give George a surprise. George is not here as he is recovering! But he'll be OK in a while, and I explained that George would make a better friend than enemy!"

Thanks Mecha. I may do some engraving on the brass end pieces. I certainly forgot many of the tricks of making miniatures , it's been too long. The green dragon I made when I was about 7 , a very productive year ! Yes there is a " Dragon's Keep Road " but I'm not telling you where, they want their privacy.
