I bought a custom knife on KF from Mike Edwards (whiskers).

Here's the deal.

7/24 - MO was sent.

8/07 - MO arrived back in my mailbox. It was his new address and they didn't have the right name or something so they returned it. No big deal. Just a postal problem, so actual deal timeline starts below.

8/15 - New MO sent.

9/02 - PM'd him to see if he got it. He confirmed that he did, and said he would ship the knife the next day.

9/20 and 9/23 - Sent PMs asking if it had been shipped.

9/24 - Replied that he would ship it the next day and send me a tracking number.

9/24 - Today - Have sent a few PMs with no response and have posted in KF's feedback section with no response. Obviously still don't have my knife.


Does anyone know if this Mike Edwards is a member here, or know him from anywhere else?
 
there seems to be a whiskers1 who is a member but it didnt show any posts for him, maybe i didnt do it right lol, try a search.

IIRC i have seen whiskers on KF but not here and the name doesnt ring a bell either, i rarely go to KF though.

cant ya post something on KF?

do wish ya good luck finding out what the deal is it sucks for sure.
 
It always amazes me that someone will throw their reputation in the toilet for such a miniscule amount.
I couldn't and wouldn't trash my rep for a million bucks; how/why do people do it for a couple of hundred?

Yeah, it was just 80 bucks too. I don't get it. He was a new maker, and this was either his first or second knife. The sad part is it was a great looking knife and if it was a first, he showed fantastic potential.

I just noticed that he hasn't been back to KF since 9/26, so there may be circumstances I'm not aware of. I hope he's alright and at least contacts me soon.
 
Just a bump in case anyone has dealt with him on another forum. Still no response, but he hasn't returned to KF since.

At this point I really hope he's just took the money and stopped posting, and not something worse. Though it seems weird he'd do that over such a small amount. :confused:
 
Mike is still online and still selling things, but still ignoring my emails.

He may be on BFC or other knife forums under a different name, so I'm gonna bump this in case anyone else does a search for the info before getting ripped off. He's an active member on OpenCarry, Glocktalk, USACarry and I'm sure a few others.

I'd like to suggest being very specific about exactly what usernames he uses and make sure you get the spelling right. Bladeforums alone has 178,365 members (at the moment -- more by the time you read this). Whatever username you pick there are bound to be other people with similar usernames, and I hate to see innocent people blamed for what others have done.

LOL. Yeah, I've still been sending emails over the years and actually got a reply to one before being ignored again. Cleaning out my old emails and got reminded of it so thought I'd post the details for anyone doing a search. Just 80 bucks, but I really wanted the knife, so I'm still sorta ticked when reminded of it.

I'd like to suggest being very specific about exactly what usernames he uses and make sure you get the spelling right. Usernames posted are correct. There are variations that I didn't post because I couldn't find the exact ones. And yeah, they're fairly common, but so is the name. The info linked together though may help avert a ripoff or someone being jerked around later.
 
i have a buddy that is a state trooper in the cincy area. i'll see if i can get him to make a housecall. do you have a phone number?

Just 80 bucks? I'd hunt someone to the end of my days over a nickle of my money. I completely support you in keeping this in people's minds. :thumbup:

Thanks Richard. Don't go to any real trouble over it though as it's been so long I don't know if he's even at that addy now. Don't have a number for him.
