I just got this one from a guy who has several of Mike's knives. I can't believe he was selling it, and to be honest, this is my favorite of the Gunstock's Mike has done that he's posted on his Instagram and website.

Ya'll I've spend at least half an hour trying to find something wrong with this knife. I can't. It is flawless to the eyes. My Eureka has a small amount of blade play and some significant blade rap. This one is rock solid and has no rap. The fit and finish are incredible. No gaps, smooth everything, perfectly even grinds, extremely thin behind the edge, phenomenal action (the blade literally leaps into the half stop on opening). Mike is the real deal.

Mike is one of the best most genuine down to earth custom traditional knife makers you will ever come across. Loves his craft and the history of traditional knives and loves to share that history with all of us. Mike has been invaluable to me as a friend and mentor as I learn to make my own customs. One thing he's said to me on more than one occasion when I thank him for his generous time helping that's stuck with me is, and I'll paraphrase "if your good at making slippies, it's good for all of us." That's something I'll never forget and will emulate as I grow as a maker. I'm a big fan!

I missed this comment earlier, but I want to thank you for saying so and echo what you've said. It's spot on.

Oh my... Those are wonderful :thumbsup:
Probably not something I'll ever have the opportunity to buy, I don't instachat or facegram.

Joshua, I just love his beautifully rounded handles . . . like the curve of a woman's _____. The appeal is real.

While I don't own a custom knife from Mike Moran (yet) I have come to appreciate the high quality and great attention to detail in his work.
When I asked Mike about his domed handle pins used on some models, he graciously sent me some pictures of hammer peening some pin stock into a dome shape which he then polishes by hand.
Enclosed are a couple of pictures with Mike's permission.

I tried checking out the guys website, but its pretty sparse. For the 'about' it just has a pic of the guy making a face at the camera, and gallery was a pic of one knife with a 'sold' on it.

He needs to mod his website with some info on himself and how he makes the stuff, and maybe show some examples. No contact info, just a place to leave your info for him to get back to you. Kinda weird.
He's more active on Instagram
