Mike Moran Knives

While at the Atlanta Blade Show a few weeks back I had the sincere pleasure to meet and spend some time with Mike Moran.
Aside from being a great guy with a sharp mind and sense of humor to match, he is an incredibly talented craftsman.
It was my considerable fortune to be able to acquire one of Mike's knives at the show which hasn't left my sight since.
Even the best pictures seldom do a knife justice, but the following picture gives a pretty good idea as to just how good Mike's talents are.
Fantastic fit and finish with a perfect smooth pull. The large satin finish blade pairs wonderfully with the African blackwood handle, and I love the inlaid shield.
I've handled quite a few knives in my day, and this one ranks among the best custom models that I have held.
Thanks Mike, for a beautiful knife!!!

I exchanged some emails with Mike Moran a few months back, and he seems like a really nice guy :) If I wasn't such a Technoidiot we'd have probably chatted a few times by now too! Sorry Mike

Here are my two Morans: a Eureka in ebony and Boy's Knife in dyed maple.

So you got that Boys' knife! Well done. I really like the blade shape on that one. Mike really dialed it in. It looks like the nail nick might be a bit different on it compared to the Eureka. Is that so, or is it just the angle?

I guess I haven't been on here enough over the past year or so to see this thread.

Here is my 2 blade Eureka with custom shield & blackwood handles. I received it in August 2020. Mike is not only an excellent craftsman, but he's EXTREMELY knowledgeable of knife history, and very kind and patient!

He also knows where to get some of the best wood I've ever seen! Yours is a beauty.
