Mike Williams famous "Cloud Bowie"

Still focused on the wrong person. What ever I say will be to low and rediculous. I feel you are not really interested in selling to me, but just want to hear what I say in order to retort.

And now at whatever price, do you expect me to transact business with you?

Now you keep pushing me for a pric?!?! OK, I'll buy it right now for $500. This is a great deal to me.

I sold my brand new Foster Bolo Bowie with papers, CD, care instruction that I bought for $1200 for $800. This was a deal.

I sold a new Ratweiler with Spec Ops sheath, stone and lanyard for a little over $200.

The person thanked me for offering knives at a reasonable price.

Swamp Rat knife about 10 inch blade, 52100 steel. See on the Swamrat knives, a subsiduary of Busse Combat.

ERdept,

The point you are missing is in a sticky at the top of this forum:

Don't make negative comments in people's for sale thread

Unless the seller has directly ripped you off, I don't want to see negative comments or asinine behavior in for sale threads, especially from non-paying members. Questions & such are still welcome, but don't act like an ass in someone's for sale thread.

I don't care if you can find it cheaper elsewhere, the market will decide whether or not it sells at that price. The people who are selling here help keep this site open... when you mess up their sales, you hurt this site.

Randy is correct - it is rude to post as you did in his for sale thread. If you decide to pass on a knife because you think it overpriced, there is no reason whatsoever to announce same in the seller's thread. Just move on.

Oh, and bringing e-mails sent and received off-line into the discussion is not particularly kosher either.

Roger

Well said Roger !

I would also like to add. . . . .ERDept. . . .stop being an ass !

He will for at least 10 days.

Randy,
The good thing is, at the end of the day, none of this detracts from this beautiful knife or its unique hamon. It speaks for itself. You might want to give me a call when you get a chance. I have been unable to reach you. You've got several nice knives currently for sale. Just got a heads up from another member that's not suitable for posting but might be of CURRENT interest to you. My outgoing email still doesn't work properly.
Talk to you later, Jeff

To come to Randy's defense, not that he needs it.

I have seen Randy sale a few knives way below market value. I even purchased a extremely nice Larry Chew from him. I offered him a price that was about 20% below his already very fair price and he took it.

It never hurts to offer. I don't think Randy is out to slander you for an offer. Even though it seems like your Slandering him for not wanting to make him an offer. ERdept

Needless to say I am not a bowie aficionado, but anyone who knows anything about custom knives can take one look at that bowie and know anything at $1000 or less is a steal.

He will for at least 10 days.

Thank you Bastid for giving me info regarding my banning. I have learned to not post these things that you've sent me..........

"Reason: Inappropriate Language
-------
10 day ban for posting negatives in a for sale thread.

(Not to mention comparing a factory knife to a MS custom.)"

I have learned much from the punishment of being banned. Again, thanks for the education about how to behave on the forum. Sorry for my inappropriate language. I apoligize for using the bad words that I did. As well as comparing a factory knife to a MS custom. Although I have apologized, I have searched my post, but still don't see the foul language though and the section where I compared the knives? Anyway, I still accept the ban entirely and with great humbleness.

Also, sorry for being an ass, as was stated that I am, above. I am sorry for that. I will attempt to look deeply into my personality and curtail that behaviour.

Thank you Nifrand for ceasing to email me. Good luck in your sale and I hope that this bumps you up again, as my other thread attempted to bump you up.

I looks like a great knife and a great maker, as I've stated several times above. Again, sorry to post your emails earlier in the thread, but I had to do this, resulting in my banning in order to get you to stop emailing me. I have the 10+ others that you sent to me subsequent, that I've learned cannot be posted.

Good luck, but you won't need it, in your sale. This is a fantastic knife and a great maker. It should go quickly. It's been a pleasure dealing with you. I am truly humbled and ashamed at myself for being out of control.

That's very nice of you.

To correct a couple of things.

1. You were banned for 10 days for your posts in this thread.

2. The infraction system allows for a limited number of infractions listed.
Inappropriate Language was the best choice.
The general choice was then clarified. " 10 day ban for posting negatives in a for sale thread."

Got your PM. I understand now and am deeply sorry. I even feel badly when you gave me this PM Bastid....

"No mistake,
1. the P.M. is an auto P.M.

2. You can not post negative stuff in a for sale thread without breaking rules. You were banned for 10 days.

3. You are forgiven for your delusions".

I am sorry for being delusional as well. I will look introspectively at myself and try greatly to correct this problem. I am hurt that you had to called me the additional names.

Again, I hope my post bump this thread up so that the knife can sell. It's a great knife make by a great maker. Perhaps the best maker. The combination of steels and the artistry required to combine the steels in this blade to make the cloud pattern require supreme talent. This blade is rare indeed.

To the top.

Care to post the P.M. you sent to me forgiving me for banning you. ;).

See ya around.

Amazing knife astounded it has not sold for the $1200 I am asking.Hope the negative comments from the peanut gallery has not tainted my sale. Also hope to someday meet ERdept at a show.Face to face.

I've had a chance to closely examine Mike's "clouds" type hamon work and talk to him about it on a different knife. If this knife is anything like the one I handled, the photos don't do it justice at all. From Mike's description, it is a very demanding and time consuming process to get this effect. The result is really unique and beautiful.

Id love to know his full process if its posted somewhere or you can PM me. If he doesnt want it distributed, thats cool, too. I do lots of hamon work and have had some insane results. My guess is this is some function of multiple quenches to have the mix of different structures like that...but who knows!

Mike told me in trying to duplicate this knife he has had blades split right down the middle, length wise.amazing knife good price yet no buyers.Guess it may be the only knife I keep out of my collection.
Randy

Folks, read the rules.

NO discussions in a for sale thread.

If you want to buy this knife, make an offer. Otherwise, start a thread elsewhere for discussion.
