Anyone have experience with Mikkel Willumsen's knives? If so, what do you think? Good fit and finish? Tough? Good lock up? Edge holding and slicing ability? Just curious, I like his designs and my interest is sparked.

I've never had one, but a friend of mine (Jeremy Horton) owned one ... and probably still does. He's (Jeremy) a young knifemaker with an emphasis on strong, tough user knives, and as I recall he only had admiration for Mikkel's work.

You might send Jeremy a PM and see what he'll tell you.:)

I fondled one months ago and it really was a brute. I wouldn't buy one these days but that's another story. Mikkel makes some tough knives.

I've been looking at the reno, snake doc and mr. Bug ( which doesn't seem very practical). Tough decision. I'm deciding between one of these and a Strider SMF. What do you guys think. I'm almost ready to buy.

Well I had a really bad experience with Strider's QC and CS. With Strider unless you have your blade handpicked you're taking a chance. Now why I like the Snake Doc is it looks like a very useful design. Not too big and not too small for most folder tasks. I almost got one recently but decided to try something else.

What did you get instead? I'm really loving the Reno (not the tanto one) and the Naden collab knife also.

I bought one of the new Burger Exk with D2 and take down kit plus, GEC ez open in zebra wood, a custom knife from new maker Papi and i'm having a Mnandi blade heat treated by Bos.

I'm not looking for a slicer, I was just wondering how the MW compares to Striders in cutting ability. Thanks for the responses.
