military 2??

Is there a lock that couldn't get jammed in the open position with dirt and sand?
a framelock. basically the reason why my two millies are titanium. but i back-pedal a bit and say a lock jam when open due to sand would be a rare and not so serious case, even in a survival situation (my personal opinion.) that's why i just bought a digi cam millie this morning. :D

I seem to have missed the part where I claimed the horizontal play had anything to do with the lock type. It's beautiful that you ascertained that from my statement. I simply said that I have both horizontal and vertical play. The vertical is being caused by lock slippage while the horizontal is being caused by the poorly produced bushing system.

Well, the reason I ask is because if you have developed both horizontal and vertical blade play (which are not only due to the lock) in some knives and no blade play at all in other ones, the most probable explanation seems to be that you simply used those knives a lot harder than your Militarys.

If they came like that out of the box on the other hand, it's of course a more serious issue. Even if so, it is not a general problem of the compression lock though. My Para2 has never had any blade play and I've never heard of that issue from other people neither. Still, it's too bad if you had enough rotten luck to receive two knives with that problem.

If you caked enough debris in the cut-out area between the handle and the lock bar, that could cause it to stick open. I see how a framelock would be harder to get stuck open than a linerlock with the scale providing a cavity for dirt to fill in, but every knife is capable of failing.

Would be my perfect knife basically.. military with a 4 way clip.

Don't much care about lanyard hole since I never use a lanyard, same time it can be there too. wash for me. Knife is the most comfortable in my hand than any other. I like longer blades as well.

I am 100% happy with the current blade lock. I have a m390CF and a s30v digi camo on and just love them

I agree with the 4-way clip idea. And updated torx screws.
As for the liner lock, I actually really like it. I was using my good old millie, and I realized that if dirt or something did get caught in between the liner and the g10 when the blade was open, it would be near impossible for the blade to be disengaged and closed, right? But doesn't that also mean that the knife will act much like a fixed blade since it cannot fail? (Assuming of course that the g10 can hold up)

i need a lanyard and bead for all my spydeys since i now carry them in a belt bag (bead sticking out of the zipper.) the millie lanyard hole, aside from being too small, is poorly positioned. a thick knot made by two paracords near that hole will get in the way when opening the blade one-handed. that's why i now use a very slim nylon strand that won't stand out when knotted. so a better lanyard hole positioning would be good.

i wrote somewhere that my ideal millie would be the current titanium framelock s30v with a mirror-polished blade (and a better lanyard hole :D )

I have 10 militaries at the moment because I like them that much. I'm fine with it but Sal has said that the old military will run concurently with the Military 2(when it's released). I will probably get at least 1 to try and see if I like it. If not, then I'll probably not be able to wear out the 10 I have in my lifetime.

Oh, and I have a cruwear millie coming too. If that doesn't sell out too fast, I might get another one of those.
