Military vs Para

There's about 3 Para threads on this page (at the time of posting), but oddly enough, not a single one about it's big brother. Seriously, what gives? Which do you prefer? The para? Or the military?

I'll get the ball rolling and say Military!

I held a para at my local knife store and I couldn't seem to fit all four fingers behind the blade. The choil is also a bit too small for my tastes. The military fixes all of these problems by giving you a HUGE handle and a perfectly sized choil to fit your index finger into. The military also benefits from having a longer blade giving you that extra reach when you need it. My last gripe with the para is the lock juts out of the handle giving he knife a slightly ugly appearance:grumpy:

that's my $0.02

Both Millies rock. I had a Military. I just like all that power in a smaller package.

Don't make me pick one, because I won't do it.

My Para's serve more of an EDC role, where as the Millie's come out on weekends for the big tasks.

I have two Millies and love them both. I did hold a para and was prepared to buy before I got there but although the handle was a perfect length and fit for me I thought the blade was too small so that's why I didn't purchase it. Instead I got another Military.

The millie is not to big for me. It's thin profile and light weight make it an ideal carry either at the beach in my speedo or in
the barn with my jeans! ;)

It may sound strange but while I think the Military might be a better knife. I, for a number of reasons, prefer the Para. This the Para is the better knife for me while over all the Military might have the edge.

i prefer the size of the military, but the lock on the para.

a military w/ compression lock? now we're talking!!!

I had a military and just traded it.. I have to tell you that I think it is well built, but way to big for EDC!! I have yet to hold a para, but I have to beleive it is a perfect EDC size.
I just kept looking at the Military and wondering what made someone design a handle so darn HUGE..It simply is not for me..If I was in a life or death situation then I can see the Millie being the choice..IMO.

I use a palm-loaded grip on my knives, at times, so I do not need a large handle.

the mili is huge. i am 6 foot 3, and the para fits my hands perfect. the lock is better than a liner lock, and as good as an axis in my opinion(less moving parts)

total flow through construction

now with the bronze washers!

i take the clip off and tether it to my belt, so i could care less about the clip

Personally I think the perfect EDC would be a combo of the two:

Millie size blade, Para sized handle, compression lock.

Pleeez Sal! :o

I like the Military a lot more, but I admit that I don't carry it often because of it's size. I might have to take another look at the Para!

Military's probably my most carried knife, once I had G2 make a sheath for it. I purchased the Para, like it, but for some reason it just sits on the shelf.

I don't understand. Who would want a dinky little Paramilitary when they could have a full sized and manly Military?

while i am not a fan of liner locks, the military is a special exception. military for me all the way

I have med-small hands and the Para is a perfect fit for me, plus I prefer the compression lock. The Military is a bit too big for my tastes but still a GREAT knife.

I'd say millie, the para is very nice but I like bigger blades.

I have both Para and military. Para fits better in my hand better, but I have small hands. Para is the smoothest folding knife I owned.
