Mini-canadian

bulgron-- that is a bummer....:thumbdn: sorry to hear that.... sounds kind of wierd...
i primarily use www.dlttradingcomapny.com they are some cool folks to deal with... they usually have a great selction too....:D

nice to see more CALI. folks on here...

I originally wanted a curly maple one, but settled for green canvas micarta when it became hard to find one anywhere in any style. I've come to really like it even though it's a bit plain.

I tried to order a mini canadian a few weeks ago (from a knife website that shall remain nameless), but the order has gone into never-never land. It seems to be perpetually 'pending'. Sent them email, no response. Called their customer support line, it's been disconnected. I'm bummed because they were offering the mini canadian in curly maple, which I haven't seen anywhere else. I guess I'll have to settle for some other handle material. :(

Bulgron,
I'd ask that you name the company, if not here, then in the Good,Bad, and Ugly. You'd be doing a great service to all of us if the company isn;t reputable. Put it in Good, Bad and then come here to tell us it's in there. I for one want to know who it is and hear your eventual outcome.

I once ordered a knife from a company and had a similar problem. I was browsing Good, Bad, Ugly and saw the company's name. It was a huge thread with alot of dissatisfied customers. Even the company's owner and an employee eventually chimed in, realizing that their inattentiveness was going to cost them alot.

ON EDIT: You should be able to get a curly maple mini-C from DLT Trading Company, even if they don;t have one in stock right now. Those people have NEVER failed to respond to me within three days (never meaning 5 times, hehehe). Two ladies named Mary and Donna will tell you when and for how much they can get your curly maple. I hear outstanding things about KnivesShipFree too, but I haven;t ordered so I can;t personally attest. One of the things that's held me back from ordering from ShipFree is the loyalty I feel from DLT..... so I return it. (((:D)))

Thanks for the pointer to DLT Trading. I just ordered this knife from them and I'm told it'll be in the mail tonight:

Of course, given my luck, the ordering process was not without incident. Something screwed up on the credit card authorization service and they errored out, telling me that the payment was authorized but they couldn't get that notification to the seller. The same error message told me to contact the seller to make sure all was well.

So I called DLT Trading and talked to a very nice woman there (didn't catch her name). Turns out they had all the information on me, including how much I spent, who I was, where I live, etc. & etc. EXCEPT FOR WHAT I ACTUALLY BOUGHT. I was most amused. Anyway, a few minutes conversation got things settled out and the knife should be in the mail.

I'm all tingly with anticipation now. :D

OK, I just started a thread on that company in G B & U. Look here.

I hate doing things like that. :grumpy:

I would expect antique ivory to be just that: ivory. But having never handled an antique ivory handled knife, I could easily be wrong about that.

The address that was posted shows the black micarta for 50 and the antique for 69.

I regularly EDC the Mikro-Canadian at the university I teach at here in California, and have never gotten any flak from security, etc. It's surprizing how useful that sharp little blade is!
