Mini Grip Axis Spring failure

Great post! Very informative.👍 We should just close the thread now.
Seriously...they op's spring failed while he was performing normal functions, opening and closing a FOLDING knife.

Those are the OP own words. He repeats himself later on with a 2nd knife. Just the plain truth sorry it bothers you.
Just because a knife folds, doesn't mean one should do it over and over and over and over.....
I have numerous BMs with Axis over a decade of EDC with ZERO failures. Why you tell me.

Nevertheless, it does seem odd that SpyJ's springs seem to be breaking far more often than normal. Hard to imagine what could be causing it if not excessive cycling.

So what would you say qualifies as "excessive" cycling? Number of openening/closing, or how frequent you open and close it? I can't prove that I'm not abusing the knives, I have no reason to trash BM, I really like them! But when a spring brakes on a knife, causing it to open in my pocket, almost stabbing me in the leg, I'd like to think I'm in title to question the design a bit...
I don't open and close them like a maniac, but If you can't open and close the blade like a normal folding knife, why the h*ll would you buy the knife??

What use is a folding knife, if you have to consider the amount of times you have opened it, and have to worry that it will brake under normal use?

You should be able to open and close it as much as you want, and not have to worry about breaking the knife...
I've been using Axis lock knives for probably 20 years now, and have had roughly 14 different knives. I have yet to have a spring break, or have any other issues with the knives.

In the past, there have been other members who seem to have the same luck as you do with springs breaking. Anything can fail, but it is odd that you have had numerous failures, with very little use.

I can understand your frustration, but don't give up yet. They really are great knives, and the majority of them have zero issues.
