Hey Y'all,

Well I survived IG's and the mini hammer-in. Learned a lot too.

Made up three billets of 1084 /15N20 and one of cable. Thanks for all the instruction IG! I got a good start on a small drop point for my son out of the cable. I forged out a larger blade for my Dad with the expert guidance of a jovial Journey Smith from Quebec, David Sylvester. Thanks Dave! Thanks too, Gary "Wolf" Rua for your fine demonstratios. Between the two of you guys I have a much better grasp of forging out a blade. Cut up a 12 point whitetail rack (my Dad bagged in 1959) for the knives' handles. Thanks for the help doing a bit of stabilizing IG. (Sorry about dropping the jar of your magic potion. :o)

Sorry too, to have missed Aldo. Aldo, although I hope you and yours are all ok, you better be near hospitalized you SOB for not making it. My poor high school students will have to roam the street for their steel now. :(

I also had the good fortune of meeting Ryan Whittmore when he stopped briefly at IG's a couple days before the hammer-in. It pays to show up early, I scored some nice equipment and materials he was selling (nearly giving away :D) prior to deployment. Thanks for the great deal on the stuff Ryan. I'll do my best to get it to Oahu. See you there in a year or so.

Thanks Jerry Adams for making me up a fine etcher. Between it and all the stuff from Ryan and IG my Dad's little Jeep was pretty loaded down when I left IG's.

It was great meeting all you guys (except Aldo, maybe next time).

Mahalo and Aloha, Phil

Phil
You were in good hands to learn from there

I'm sorry you couldn't make it up last week.. now that you have a billet or three :) maybe we can do it a day next week ?.. before you head back to Vacation land :D Tuesday on , should be good..

Sorry I missed it, I'm sure it was a blast. You're welcome for the deal Phil, it was nice to meet you. Remember to PayPal me the balance when you can. See ya in Hawaii!

Ryan: PayPal sent thanks!

Dan: Not sure I'll be able to make it this trip. I head back to Hawaii in a week and time is flying by. The five hour drive up to Brownville, ME has me a bit intimidated. Maybe next summer. Thanks!

IG: I hope you're recovering from all the activity. Where you at?

Just taking a few days off. The HI came out just the way it's was attended. Around 15 Bubba's. I like to thanks all the Guys for the help. Gary and Big Dave did a outstanding forging demos. Being small gave allot more one on one training for the new guys. We had only 2 out of my 4 forges running all .
Justin are you planning on posting pic's of all the sweatyasses???? HEHEHEHEHEHE!!!
Also, Aldo you let us down. I told Phil that you were a man of your word and look what you did to Poor Lil Old Phil. For a minute there he had a tear in his eye.:jerkit::jerkit::grumpy:
