I got my skinner-style (they make a caper too) Buck Paklite tonight and played around with it a little before dinner. This knife is lot like the RAT Izula or Becker Necker in terms of dimensions (6 5/8", 2.5 oz.) and is made of Bucks 420HC (a steel that I have grown to appreciate in one of their folders). Upon receiving it, I promptly threw some para-cord around the handle/grip, just for fun.

Observations:

Excellent finish, hair-shaving sharp from the box, more comfortable to hold than I expected, the nylon sheath has a plastic liner (nice touch).

I hope to play with it outside tomorrow after our Scout trip and see how it handles wood. I would have to say that for $16, I'm pretty impressed so far.

cool... i was checking those out the other day.. they seem like a great little blade for the $$$...

Very nice, i love Bucks. For sure theres nothing wrong with Buck's 420HC at all.
All but one of my Bucks are 420HC.
If i hadn't just recently bought an Izula i'd get one of these.
Whats the sheath like, can you neck carry it?

Excellent little knife and great price.

It looks that way!

I agree on the 420HC. The sheath is designed for belt carry. I'd like a neck carry option, but for the price, I won't complain.

For the price, I may have to pick one up to try it in the future.

Yeah, it's kind of like a Mora that way...

Looks good might have to pick it up instead of the Izula.

The Izula sounds like a great little blade (I'd like to get one sometime), and the Izula's grind might lend itself more to outdoor tasks, but if you are on a budget, the Buck seems like a good option. Of course, if you are not on a budget, you should buy both;).

Looks really good. I like the shape, it looks very grip-able. Being stainless and for that price it would be a great one to keep in a pack in my truck or in our car kits...probably legal everywhere here in the U.S..

So okay - for those of you have one or hvae handled it - can you actually get the "magic pinky" on there? I do love the little light blades but there is just something about not having all my fingers on there that I just can't stand. Details, man - DETAILS!!

I'm going to pick up that caper too...

Enough to make me buy a ticket to get over there and buy one. I like it!

Stop in for a cold one if you do, I'll buy:D

Very cool little blade and awesome guy to throw in the tacklebox etc. Its got a Ken Onion type of shape to the drop point doesn't it?

Nice job on the wrap too. Bet that makes a difference!

Thanks, amigo! Looks good to me! Gotta check this one out...

Be interested to see what you think about it...
