Mini-Review on Mini-Lighter (PICS)

No, I've been trying to find who makes them.

They are made in Wenzhou, China. A coastal city in Southern China. (Jeffrey, from Tygerpipes, returned my email)

Google this interesting and well written BBC article to read about lighters and this city: Wenzhou lights the way for China

Fascinating for me following this product, the people and the place.

Thanks for the heads up oregon, he didn't say what the company was by chance in China. He most likely won't. GroovyMr1337 I know mine has gone months relighting, but like they said I haven't let it on for a long time because it gets way too hot. It serves my purpose because it doesn't evaporate and it's small, light, and gives plenty of time to light very many fires off the fuel.

No, you are right, Jeffrey did not mention the name of the factory. My guess is Ri Feng Lighter Company. He did say that the reason they don't use paypal is that there was a problem (cryptic I know).

Anyway, I've placed an order for a production run, 200 units, from the factory (via Kai, a Hong Kong business master) They should ship to me next week. The custom's paperwork should have the factory name. When I find out you will too. And, thank you for your interest because it fires mine.

All the best,

oregon

Thanks oregon, I would be interested in the company if you find out, I'd like to order a bunch as well.

Okay, in the absense of evidence to the contrary, I'm gonna claim credit for this one! :D These lighters are now available at County.com for all of FIVE BUCKS! I guess we early adopters really do take the arrows for everybody to follow! :o They are calling it the Peanut Lighter™, although I'm guessing there is no such trademark.

I thought these were worthwhile at $19.95. For $5.00 there is no excuse for not having a handful of these scattered around your gear.

Thank you kindly FLIX.

You walk the earth like a giant, with fire, in my eyes.

May you live for a thousand years.

You have 1/2 a beer coming.:) Please keep the gear reviews coming.

The peanut lighter is a patented butane lighter shaped exactly like a peanut, textured shell and all. Google it up and see. Nick is being creative.

All the best,

oregon

Hi oregon,

Woo Hoo! Half a beer!!! :) :) :)

I wasn't sure if you were associated with county.com or not. I did notice above that you had made a dealer purchase. If these move for you, you may want to commission a run with a flat bottom.

I bought two from the previously mentioned ebay seller near 20$ each. I'm generaly satisfied, one was perfect and in gun metal blue! the other was a brushed matte finish but the lighter in it "rattles" back and forth a bit when the cap is screwed on, so i just jammed a bit of tissue in there and now no rattle! BOTH work fine and are really neat.
I know i sound like a broken record but heres another "U.S only" seller, the 5$ price from country comm is for U.S residents only. So i can buy them from China but i can't buy them from an American!?

The 200 unit purchase from the mfg was solely for a group buy (which is fully subscribed already) for CandlePowerForum members: http://www.candlepowerforums.com/vb/showthread.php?t=160486

I am not associated with any vendors. Just an individual. Don't sell anything. I am in enough trouble from just buying!

I like the rounded exterior of the capsule lighter. The rounding makes for a comfortable carry IMHO. If It had a flat bottom I might set it down, forget it and lose it.

All the best,

Dang Strait. Good ole' US buisness practices hard at work. :D

These look so cool. I just ordered a Metal match for $8. It hasnt even arived yet, and it looks like im gunna' have to buy one of these.

I ordered a couple from the eBay source mentioned above. They arrived fairly quickly given that they came from China. One had a bad O-ring -- broken when opened first time. That was an easy fix. They do work.

I have replacement O-Rings inbound from the manufacturer. They should arrive near the end of this month. I would be happy to send you a replacement when then arrive. Please feel free to email me your mailing info if you like: dunntax@aol.com

I am happy that you like these lighters.

All the best,

oregon
