Minimal swiss army knive??

For people carrying the Cadet, what tools have you used on it in the last 6 months.

The Walker was perfect for me (thought the saw is a little short). but I don't seem to use most of the tools. Maybe it's just that a SAK isn't that useful for me over all.
Most of the time I need a screwdriver, the SAK screwdriver is the wrong size, or too short so it is easier to just go track one down. Cans now are mostly pull tab,

For me the Bantam is the right size. I love the thin nature of the Alox but the toothpick and tweezers probably would get more use than the multipurpose blade.
I have an ALOX 7 that I carry, but a FarmerX would probably be a better all around knife for me when I am rambling, but even the ALOX 7 is more bulky than I like to carry regularly.

For EDC in an office, the Bantam seems to work well.

I have decided on obtaining an alox bantam, but I can not locate a dealer selling them in red without BRANDING. Knifecenter is selling branded versions but I do not want ads on my pocket knives.

Can anybody supply me with a dealer that stocks red alox bantam pocket knives without BRANDING on the engravers paneling??
You will not find one. The red Bantam Alox is a KnifeCenter Exclusive model, which is why it has their logo on it.

Between the Bantam and the Cadet, I would choose the Cadet. Too bad Victorinox still refuses to make a Cadet X, though.

I find the DLT logo a bit nicer, but getting a nice red Alox without the branding would be nice.

The victorinox cadet is such a robust light weight model, one of my favorites, that and the pioneer, between those two (or simply both) you'll see that youre amply knifed for any adventure
Thats about the size of it.

I had an alox bantam, and I did like it. but, after a while I found myself leaving at the back of the sock drawer as it just didn't;t have the wide range of capability that the cadet had, with very little added bulk. The combo tool is good, but limited. It doesn't work near as well on small Phillips screws as the nail file tip of the cadet. And the semi pointy cadet nail file makes a great pointed pokey tool for some uses.

Let me put one thing more out there from my own experience. I worship at the shrine of maximum minimalism, and I will admit to being actually neurotic on the subject. I'm obsessed with having the smallest most minimal tool that will still function at its intended task. Like a monocular instead of binocular, or a small single AAA cell keychain flashlight in place of something bigger and more effective. BUT...I have had it bite me in the butt on occasion. Sometimes you can go too far in that direction to where you will actually loose some use in the real world. theres been a time or two that I have reverse my choice and went for something a bit bigger or more robust in build. Such as my experiment in carrying the bantam as my EDC. Over the course a half century of SAK use, my choices got whittled down to the old Wenger SI I've had forever, (same as a pioneer) and the cadet for "dress" occasions. EDC team.

Ive tried thicker saks and found them a nuisance in the pocket, can you get used to it? Sure. People carry leathermans all day every day as they've gotten use to the bulk+ muscle memory and all that jazz. So the blame is on part mine as I never allowed myself the time needed to "break myself in" to the heft of bigger swiss army knives. As far as the cadet goes I've tried ans owned a lot of different kinds ans I feel that the cadet or the pioneer is almost as perfect as perfection gets, looking at the mil-k 818 demo knife the pioneer is almost identical to it in terms of tool set without the added weight, but people carried that knife around fine, definitely lighter than a full sized bayonet. As a side note the classic sd is an Amazing little knife but there are times when a little bigger or more robust is needed. So I found myself carrying both when I do

When I carry a cadet as my pocket knife choice for the week I typically just end up using the blade and the nail cleaner in that 1 week span.
Everything other implement ( not necessarily every function of each implement) does come in handy in ways that the combo tool on the bantam or walker would not.

DLT Trading has the ALOX Cadet in red; a very sweet looking unit without proprietor's name branding.

Alox in red just looks right, whether new or pocket worn 🥰

Thank you for the tip!! I see they also carry this Model is blue, black and silver. To Me red just feels right fot a swiss army knife! I will probably go with that.

Word of information, if you plan to use the knife the red will wear out pretty quickly.

Just be aware, both, DLT's green and blue Cadets are name branded, the red, silver, and black are not.

I see they're putting their logo on the pile side scale now instead of the blade like they did on my green Cadet.
This is making me want to buy another one now.
