Minimalist 1st Aid

Sufler ... a clean sealed 10' bandage (most important), fabric bandaids, painkillers, antiseptic and a space blanket if you can fit it in. I use the cheap little camera pouches.

Thinking of using a 7x10 waterproof bag for 1st Aid. After reading your suggestions, a few extra things would definitely come in handy... things that don't necessarily affect the overall gear weight consideration. All in all, I have an idea know of which direction to take my kit in to and what I'll be able to handle by myself.

Thanks all!

eye drops can be nice, and they serve a dual purpose to irrigate gouges and such.

If I'm carrying minimalist it's only going to be for the worst stuff, not the annoying stuff that can wait or I can put up with.

1. Some way to contact outside help.

2. Heavy crepe bandage for snake bite compression bandages (Aussie snakes are different from American, I'm not sure what you guys use) and to hold the next dressing in place.

3. Alginate dressing(s) to stop blow flow. I'm assuming this is for something bad like falling on a knife or a sharp stick.

4. Epipen if someone is allergic.

5. Paracetamol (tylenol) + codeine tablets in case of a massive headache, the type that stops you from functioning.

Anything less that can't be handled by those can wait till I'm out. Bandaids IMO are useless, the just fall off. If the cut is small enough to be handled by a bandaid I can improvise something else. JMO - I would love to hear a paramedics choices.
