Minimalist Woodland Feast

Thx man ! I'm dying to get out in the woods now ,that looked fun

It's always fun to get some woods time in.

Good amount of jimping on that meddy.

To be honest, I wish they'd skipped the jimping on the handle.
It digs into the web of the hand when doing hard cuts. With gloves it's fine, but with bare hands, it does not help.
And that's after I sanded it down a bit! It was gouging my goatskin wallet before lightly sanding those giant jimps.

Lobster on a day trip, you two may be the finest bushmen I know!

On Saturday, I headed off to the woods yet again with my brother.
As you can see, we barely brought anything at all with us... ;)

Once at the site, we found the fire-pit full from previous use by others who had been there. They also seemed to have drunkenly fallen into the shelter supports, throwing it all off.
We cleaned up the pit, and set the supports back to being upright.

Here, you see fire beginnings:

I got a Medford Praetorian a few months back, so I decided to see how it did with "woodsy" tasks. Here it is, creating a steak stick:

The rain started, so I busted out my tarp, the best one Dollarama had to offer:

The water is now ready for the greatest treat the woods has to offer...

No clarified butter? That kind of unprepared and whimsical survival attitude could have turned ugly fast.

There's roughing it and then there is just plain carelessness. Dumb luck to have gotten out of there in one piece..

:)

Stay fed

Really cool, but that had to mean that you took the lobster into the woods with you, how did that happen without it dying? That baffles me. Now that is bushcraft knowledge. :D

It was a close one! :D
