Minnesota piglets!

Sounds like you guys will have a blast! Lettin' loose in the woods with some food, a little alcohol and A LOT of knives sounds like the perfect evening

Himm - I am not sure she got the proportions right? A lot, a lot and a lot sounds more like it ! :)

Seems relatively close. 40 minutes isn't that big of a drive for me. Anyone else have distance preferences or limitations?

I'm fine with the drive, but any park in MN strictly prohibits any chopping of wood or even gathering sticks on the trail to burn. This would be particularly important in such a public spot as Baker Reserve.

Gotcha, I kinda was wondering about that after I posted...also, how would a campground feel about a bunch of knife wielding drunk men?

Hey- hey - hey! This is not Wisconsin! There are laws here (too many) and not too many public places allow the chopping of anything... Sadly

Himmm.... Perhaps if we brought in our own 2X4's ? :)

I am up for wherever.. Anyone know of some open hunting land, a farm or something like that?

BLM land would be ideal, but it is only in the America West unfortunately. DNR lands, WMA's, State Parks, natural areas, etc. are all out of bounds for practicing traditional woodcraft skills. I have gotten permission from several in my area to pick up sticks and branches on golf courses, but that is as far as they would go.

Well perhaps someone from Wisconsin can pipe in ... There must be a place somewhere !

Or perhaps we just go to the land of the Scandinavians.... Or to the NW. gathering?

Hey how about Ohio.. - I know this janitor who has this grinding place.... :)
