Misleading ads - am I bad?

The conspiracy theory was a wide spread rumour circulating in late 2004, however, like dropbears, there does seem to be some truth to the story. The prototype chinese made Schrades did bear some resemblance to the old patterns, with only a few minor differences that made them fairly easy to recognize by true collectors.
Not unlike the new chinese licensed Schrades, blade etches were slightly different as were the shields, but the only mention of China was on the paperwork and packaging.
Sorry, I don't have the original box anymore, I believe it was water damaged on Larry303's boat...

Schrade did close the Irish factory several months before going out of business, so I believe that they intended to import their low end knives from China, like the Imperial, D-E, and Tradesman brands. I also believe that's how Taylor was able to begin importing so soon - the deals were already in place and production was already starting.

The only pre-bancrupcy Chinese Schrade I have is an Imperial Apex. The quality is no worse than the Irish version...
