Hello all,
I ordered 2 sheaths the end of May and the date quoted has come and gone. I was told the wait time would be about 3 weeks.
My issue is not with the deadline being missed things happen. My issue is, I have sent 3 emails with no response whatsoever.

The sheath maker appears to be very reputable and if they need a little more time that is not an issue. I have ordered from several others in the past and never ran into this issue before.

So, since I paid via Paypal, should I dispute or wait it out??

Why did you pay in advance???

If you are considering a PayPal dispute, then I'd say it's time to pick up the phone and talk to the man.

Anytime I have ordered from knife makers or sheath makers I had prepaid, never had a problem.

Until now. I guess I make as many sheaths as any and I never take a cent in advance. If you pay in advance because you want to, well that's one thing. If the maker requires it, well then find another maker.

Sure, give him a call.If he doesn't answer leave a nice message.Give him a chance before a PayPal dispute.Sometimes email is unreliable for different reasons.I know I've had trouble with mine before.

Unfortunately I do not have a phone #. I may have to see about locating one but given his rep I was not concerned.

Skiptracer, if you want to contact some of the old timers around here via private message and let us know privately who you are talking about, maybe someone will know the whys and wherefores about your maker and if he is having unusual difficulties.

Thanks sheathmaker, that sounds like a good idea. Rather resolve this without throwing out a name publicly.

I will send you the info via email.

I am sure your order will work out in the end Skip.
The sheath making crowd here is a top notch group:thumbup:
I have never heard of anyone getting ripped off for a sheath.

I collect in advance and print out the shipping label right then.
It saves a step collecting later, which at the least is another round of emails.
In the end the product get's shipped faster...

It also completely does away with people who order stuff and disappear:cool::cool:

Its like I always say.. the hardest job to do is the job that is already paid for!!

NEVER pay up front!!!!

However, I suspect everything will work out fine!

I think if you order a "custom" anything, you need or should be required to pay at least half "up-front". I mean come on..... you're buying something you custom order. Why should the maker be left holding the bag if you run off and don't meet your part of the deal?
