Missunderstood with knives

I'd be spooked if some guy pulls out a knife and throws it into the grass for no apparent reason. Then the same guy thinks it's a "funny story" and wonder why he's "misunderstood".

figures, since you live in Hong Kong.

If I saw somebody throwing a knife in the grass I would assume he's probably not a threat and that he is just playing around with his cutting tool because he's probably bored.

I might be spooked too and it has little to do with the knife and everything to do with your comportment. Bored, young and mischief are words that are frequently strung together. Use your knife as a tool to do something useful and people will respect you for having the sense to bring and make use of a good tool.

Yeah I've thrown my knives into the ground when I was bored plenty of times, but not usually in public. I have gotten some funny looks when playing with throwing knives in camp grounds and parks though haha.

You collect classic cars? $40,000 Camaro? Whoa! So cool!
You collect firearms? $2500 AR? Awesome!
You collect knives? $180 benchmade? Completely ridiculous you're a fool does nothing better blah blah blah.
Anyone else notice this trend?

Kind of like "Wow, you bought four beers for 20€? Moneyman!"
Then later in the night they go out to club spending 50€ on watered down bulk beer. Sheesh.
