And no disrespect to Cobalt and his SHBM thread... just bad timing for me on that one.
It was started the day I traveled... and I just didn't have time to play.

Well, here's the harem... there are now 4 BMs that couldn't make it for the pic.

Hey folks, quick question. Do the mistresses with the grooves running along the blade have a different name? I like the ones without the grooves and I need to know what they're all called so I can keep a lookout on the exchange. Thanks!

That would be the CG FBM (Combat Grade FBM)...
And the grooves are the CBT (Corrugated Bevel Technology).

Do not... I repeat... DO NOT avoid this mistress!
It's my 2nd fav in the fusion BM line... and only recently replaced as 1st choice,
with the recently released 2008 FBM SE with beveled clip.

I noticed ..even took pics of mine with LE

and after looking at the one from bay it appears to have the same flat spine as the one in your pics.

It does... but I asked before I went for it.
Once I found out it had the same beveled clip, I couldn't pass it up!!! :thumbup:

So far... these are the only two that I've seen like this.

I think when I requested mine this way, Garth decide to make all the ganza SE BMs beveled.

I wonder how many are out there... I don't think a lot of piglets went for one.

When everybody got back from Blade and was posting their 08 FBM SEs,
I noticed they had the sharpened clip. So it was in a big debate for me on whether or
not I was going to go for one in the ganza... and the reason I only went for one when I did.
I'm not a big fan of the sharpened clips because it eats up a baton.
I'm really happy that Garth did these with a bevel... and even more happy that I found a second one!!!

The Fusion Mistress line up...

The FBM LE (limited Edition) - .32" thick satin blade, full height grind, tiger hide mag canvas micarta.

FFBM or FFFBM (Fat Flat FBM) - .31" thick, saber ground blade, all coated in a variety of colors and a variety of handle colors in micarta & g-10, mag & standard.

CG FBM - .25" thick blade with CBT, all coated in a variety of colors and a variety of handle colors in micarta & g-10, mag & standard.

2007 FBM SE - .27" thick saber ground blade with a DCBB (double cut, bead blast) finish, mag olive & black g-10 handles

2008 FBM SE - .27" thick full height ground blade in satin, mag black & tan g-10 with black g-10 bolster inlays. Some have a sharpened clip point and a few have a beveled clip.

And lastly... the soon to be release NM FBM. Easy enough to find the tread on this beast!

That girl used to be an OD green, right? Nice INFI dimples. My "older" black/black FFBM holds the record of biggest INFI dimples I've ever seen, with dimples well larger than 1x1mm. Some of them are so large they even showed through the coating (before I started wearing it off). Fat and dimply!

Here's a photo of my OD green randomly stuck in wood, much thanks to Old Physics. The photo doesn't do this FFBM right.

Yup... she used to have the OD green coating, and she has some really nice green linen standard slabs.
And this one has some DEEP infi dimples as well... especially on the other side of the blade.
I think if I sanded it down to be a smooth satin, she would only be about a 1/4" thick. I may still do it one day.

But for now... I like her all dirty, fat and dimply lookin'.
