A week ago tonight, I had English fish & chips - in England. Tonight, I had English fish & chips in Canada, made by Koreans. Both were outstanding.
Where did you buy your fish'n'chips? The quality is so variable, it's worth knowing about good places.
If you can't find any locals to ask, it's best to go for a shop where the the queue stretches well outside the door.
The chain "Big John's" are crap. Cheap, but crap.

Andrew.

Chipotle!
(The fast-food burrito restaurant that makes HUGE burritos.)

Anyone not in love with them?

Boneless chicken breast and two Peruvian caught mahi-mahi filets, brushed with extra virgin olive oil, sprinkled with ranch seasoning and grilled on my natural gas powered stainless steel Weber. Cut chicken and mahi into pieces, place over chicken and mozarella ravioli and smothered with pesto sauce.

Tonight wife went out with friends, so the dogs and I had grilled salmon. Had to brush the snow off the grill first...

Snow, in NM, huh? Well, I guess Raton is right up there on the CO border and considerably high in altitude. They don't call it Raton Pass for nothing. :) Did you have it with green chilé? :D

Yeah, we've been socked in for days now. The snow is mostly gone, but we had 5-7 inches on Sunday/Monday. It's very un-typical for this time of year. Usually the Spring is dry, warm/hot, and very windy. Elevation is about 6500' at the house; the top of the pass is 7800' or so.

I used a Jamaican spice blend instead of green chili this time. :)

My girlfriend is from New Mexico so I get down there from time to time. I'll wave next time I drive by. :)

Sorry for the non-sequitur, but whenever I read fulloflead's posts, I imagine Alf's voice in my head.

It's ridiculous, because FOL's avatar is Sesame Street's The Count. All I can think of is another muppet's voice. Perhaps the orator of The Count might have been the same for Alf? Do they sound similar?

And who is The Count? Is he a magician or a vampire? Or both? Or does he marry old widows and kill them off?

My hot MILF just made us some chicken stir fry, with rice noodles.

Oh, the rice noodles with hoisin sauce. Awesome stuff.

That is so true. It is so difficult finding good fish and chips nowadays. What about H Ramsden? They any good? I've never tried them.

Lately, haven't had any really good food but my mom arrived from Malaysia a few days back and she brought some satay sticks and peanut sauce. YUMMMY!

I walked into a Baja Fresh couple months ago, took my glasses off to clean them while I was standing in line, put them back on as the cashier was ready to take my order and saw the prices. She asked if I was ready to order. I politely said no and turned around and walked out. $7 for a small burrito? Thats bs, I can go south of the border and get 5 burritos for 7 bucks!

I'm going with a friend of mine to Ryans Buffet in Hanover, PA this weekend. Best steak I've ever had!

I miss Chinese take out. I can't eat it any more, really makes me sick. I really looked forward to pepper steak and shrimp toast. :(

I also really like egg rolls, but for some reason, they make me extremely ill, so naturally, I only rarely eat those :p ;) .

Nah. You've got it all wrong. Alf sounds just like Senator Joe Leiberman. :D
The Count is a Vampire and sounds much different.
The Count, by the way, acts and appears differently depending on your generation. They moved the monicle from left to right and back again. Fangs/No fangs... stuff like that.

He scared the living poop out of me as a child. Now I write horror. Go figure. ;)

Nothing real fancy, but some bratwursts simmered in beer and onions and put over the grill.

There was a Harry Ramsden's near me for a while. Had their food a few times, it was pretty good.
I love that peanut sauce too! (Hmm, wonder what it's like on deep fried, battered fish?)

Andrew.

For those of you who watch what you eat... Here's the final word on nutrition and health. It's a relief to know the truth after all those conflicting medical studies.

1. The Japanese eat very little fat and suffer fewer heart attacks than the British or Americans.

2. The Mexicans eat a lot of fat and suffer fewer heart attacks than the British or Americans.

3. The Japanese drink very little red wine and suffer fewer heart attacks than the British or Americans.

4. The Italians drink excessive amounts of red wine and suffer fewer heart attacks than the British or Americans.

5. The Germans drink a lot of beers and eat lots of sausages and fats and suffer fewer heart attacks than the British or Americans.

CONCLUSION: Eat and drink what you like. Speaking English is apparently what kills you.
