mp510, there was a case against Walmart in Illinois where they were fined for selling switchblades which were actually AOs. They case was later dismissed as Walmart was able to convince them there was a legal difference between the two.
 
Very often assisted openers will fall under auto statutes. While that is a good precedent for those living in illinois...it clearly shows a disturbing trend. It very much exists in many states. It may have been overturned, but stop to think for a moment. Are you walmart? Do you, as an independent citizen have even close to the resources that walmart has? Do you think you could really get such an decision overturned on appeal if not?
